Chapter 27 - Half

Zhang Bei shouted a few times, but no one responded. He sighed and walked towards the shelter.

Although it was called a shelter, it was actually a small space built with a few cardboard boxes and wooden boards.

Dust flew up as Zhang Bei moved the paper box on the surface. It almost choked him to death. He coughed as he moved the paper box and finally found this person's supplies in the middle box.

He searched through the items but did not find anything useful. Apart from some food, there was also some toilet paper and toothpaste.

Zhang Bei lifted the box and a piece of paper floated to the ground.

"This… This is…" Zhang Bei's hand trembled as he picked up the piece of paper.

Looking at the image drawn on the paper that was exactly the same as the mech, he was so excited that his eyes were brimming with tears. Then, he carefully rolled up the blueprint and placed it on the top of the box. He moved the box back to his asteroid and bowed deeply towards this asteroid.

"Thank you." Zhang Bei stood up, disconnected the asteroids, and left.

After flying for a while, the detector still didn't light up, and Zhang Bei was in low spirits, so he simply stopped.

The little yellow chick happened to wake up and pecked Zhang Bei's hand as if saying, "I'm hungry ~"

"I feel a little hungry too. Let's eat first." Zhang Bei had originally wanted to take a look at the blueprint, but his stomach started rumbling.

He went to the storeroom and took out two packets of instant noodles, two ham sausages, a cucumber and a tomato. After some thought, he took out a loaf of bread.

Walking out of the storeroom, Zhang Bei sat on the bed. He first broke off half of the bread for the little yellow chick and stuffed the other half into his mouth. Then, he poured mineral water into the kettle and waited for the water to boil.

While waiting for the water to boil, Zhang Bei opened the blueprint. He looked at the various drawings on it and immediately felt a headache.

"If I had known earlier, I would have definitely studied hard on Earth." Zhang Bei scratched his head, his eyes filled with anxiety.

However, when he thought that he could start moving in space after repairing the mecha, he immediately calmed down. He looked at the blueprint seriously, thinking about repairing the mecha.

He looked at it carefully until he heard the water boil. He stopped looking at the blueprint and threw the instant noodles into the water bottle.

After a while, Zhang Bei picked up the kettle and slowly ate the noodles without a word. He casually gave some to the little yellow chick.

After eating, he complained silently. When he looked at the blueprint, he realized that there were many exquisite parts inside. He could not make them at all now. Furthermore, some of the items needed were not only incomplete, but also things he had never heard of.

Zhang Bei felt very hopeless. He had never heard of the parts, so how could he find them?

Origin Stones, Super Starlight Materials, meteorites, and some pure blue and red essence. What were these things?

He didn't give up and searched for these things in the Exchange Platform. Of course, as expected, he didn't find these things.

'Could it be that someone has these things but hasn't taken them out to make a deal? But I don't dare to ask about them directly. After all, in such a sensitive time, if someone discovers the value of these things, they'll definitely ask for exorbitant prices.'

Furthermore, there were also some materials from Earth on the blueprint, such as nano ropes and polyethylene.

These materials were easy to find because they had once been on Earth.

Zhang Bei searched for the nano ropes and found a bundle of nano ropes listed on the Exchange Platform. The seller was asking for a half month's worth of food for it.

"It's expensive." Zhang Bei frowned. After all, food was still the most precious thing in space.

Using half a month's worth of food to exchange for this nano rope was still quite a loss.

But Zhang Bei thought, "Maybe it can be bargained?" So he sent a transaction message: Hello, are you online?

After about five minutes, the other party replied. "Yes, do you want to buy this nano rope?"

Zhang Bei didn't answer directly. He only said, "What is your final price?"

The other party: "If you really want it, you need to give at least ten days' worth of food."

Zhang Bei thought for a moment. After all, he did not have much food now.

"A week's worth of food, deal?

The other party refused. "One week's food is not enough. That is too little. When I got this thing, it happened to be during the meteor rain. I was almost killed that time. This thing really cost me my life. One week's food is really too little. You need to add a little more."

Zhang Bei thought for a moment. "How about this? A week's worth of food, and a piece of flint. What do you think?"

"Sure, deal."

Then, Zhang Bei packed the things and placed them aside. He confirmed the transaction.

Soon, the other party confirmed the exchange. The nano rope appeared beside Zhang Bei.

Zhang Bei felt that the nano rope was similar to an ordinary rope, but no matter how hard he cut it, sawed it, or burned it, he couldn't break it. It was extremely firm.

Then, he searched for other items written in the blueprint. There was nothing else in the Exchange Platform, so he closed it and looked at the world channel to see what they were talking about. Was there any clue about the things he was looking for?

Ever since the disaster passed, the cosmologist had been sending today's news on the world channel.

"I watched the blackspot activities in the sun today. It's not as frequent, and there's no problem with the movement and orbital velocity of various planets. Today is a safe day. I hope everyone is well."

Some people replied one after another to express their gratitude. Then, someone began to chat. "Recently, I seem to feel that there's more food, but I still can't find tools. For example, I picked up two roasted chickens some time ago, but I could only eat them cold. I had a stomach ache in the middle of the night."

"Yes, I still haven't found a fire source. Once it's dark, I can only lie down and sleep. Who can keep on sleeping for 24 hours? There is no night life either. It's so boring."

"Don't mention it. I picked up a lighter a few days ago, but it exploded after I pressed it a few times. Now, there's a huge cut on my hand that's bleeding."

"Hahahahaha, brother, that's so tragic. I picked up a steamed bun a few days ago and it fell to the ground. I took off the soil-covered skin and stuffed it into my mouth. Although it's very hard, it was carbohydrates."

"Stop talking. I picked up a piece of bread a while ago. It was as hard as a biscuit. Then I soaked it in mineral water and drank a few mouthfuls a day. I have to make do with it to not starve to death."
