This revelation didn't come free, however. Eli was quickly overcome with an absurd amount of questions.'Am I able to use magic? How does work? Are there different kinds of magic? Do I need to learn spells? What kind of limitations and strengths has magic created in this world?'
Despite the rush of confusion, he knew there was nothing he could do about his situation but observe. He was not yet old enough to speak and not yet old enough to even really move on his own, yet he was not beyond patient observation and study. 'Not to mention didn't I hear you say you knew about this Aziz?!' He thought angrily.
{Hey, the little girl knew about it too!}
--Did not!--
The feeling of an angry glare was all it took for Aria's less than determined lie to waver.
--Well, maybe I did know a little bit, but what I know isn't really magic--
'I seem to recall you mention something, but you never did go into depth? Care to explain to us any sense you can make of your newfound sentience? I'd especially like to know how on earth we came into all this information.'
--All I can seem to remember is that by drawing a set of runes you can instigate a summoning. I think it's possible to control what you can summon to some extent with different runes but the memories are still quite blurry.--
'Well, that's little use to me now, I can barely touch my own face much less physically draw some runes. ' He thought while examining his hands.
This short exchange occurred while Eli's new parents picked up their child. Laughing when they noticed how focused on his hands he appeared to be. They laid him down in his crib once again and focused themselves on tending to the house fire in the central room. The building of the center of the home was quite smart, raised two steps above the nursery room with a low doorway leading between the two. This kept the smoke out of Eli's nursery while allowing the heat to flow in. The one exit window in the room was high and close to the roof which allowed for good ventilation of the internal fire. Although the fireplace was receded into the wall they didn't have a chimney, especially considering the use of air or fire magic could allow Skizer to prevent any ventilation issues.
While his parents were focused on the daily upkeep of their quaint little home. He finally had a moment to himself. 'What I'm surprised about is how little I've thought about my past life so far. I've been so obsessed with the new sights and sounds that I haven't even thought about how my family is back home. How my death could have affected them hasn't even crossed my mind.' Conflicting emotions ran through his face, from his perspective his parents were dead, and they were forever gone from his lives.
Even though he never felt like he really belonged in his house it didn't mean he didn't love his parents. His face contorted into a face of pain and grief.' Mother, Father, Sister.' That was all that could run through his mind. He only found solace in the comforting words of Alia.--Let's try to forget the past and look to the future.-- Although Eli knew there was nothing that could fill the void in his heart, there was nothing he could really do about wallowing at the moment. Despite that fact, he continued to fill with sadness until he fell asleep, tears welling up along his eyelids.
"Skizer, I'm still scared of the future. Did you see the way Eli looked at magic?" She asked her husband, her face a mixture of fear and expectation."I've never seen a child look so surprised and scared when he saw you fix that cloth."
"I'm not too worried." He said laughing with a big jolly laugh. Skiz was a tall man, 6"3 and exceptionally well built. Between his smile and his eyes, he was as much as a gentle giant as they could be. "I've not seen a lot of babies in my life but our boy is as unique as it gets, with enough love and enough care it doesn't matter what surprises him. Love is all he needs to grow up exceptional to his peers and other magical lives."
