A large warehouse stood it's ground by a merciless sea. On either side, buildings of a newer generation towered over it, leaving it, and it's guards to wither away.
In the warehouse stood a man, brandishing a gun in one hand, and a throwing axe, strapped to his back. The mans hair, graying ever so slightly. His face, scared, and wrinkling. The moonlight that had been stalking the warehouse for some time, had just managed to creep through the cracked walls bringing the mans face to light. It, paled underneath the moonlight. His eyes, stone cold. It wasn't long before the man turned to the darkness behind him to address the shadowy figure.
"Long time no see, Ken."
"..."
"A little birdy told me you've been up to no good"
"That's none of your business, gramps " spoke a somewhat slender figure emerging from the shadows in which he had been hiding in. Ken looked to be in his early 20's. He had white hair and cold blue eyes.
"They call you C-19...isn't that right?"
"You should know that better than anyone else-"
"What do you want with me. You know I have better places to be." spoke Ken reaching into his thick jacket flaunting a pistol in an attempt to threaten C-19. However it was futile. In a liberal way, C-19 was a war machine gone rogue. The man responsible for the death of hundreds wasn't intimidated by Ken's futile threat attempt.
C-19 didn't respond, moreover he needn't respond. Instead, the man reached into his left pocket pulling out a photograph.
The warehouse was silent as Ken approached the man to inspect the photograph.
"It's my sister. How does this have anything to do with my sister..."
Ken stared blankly at the man.
The warehouse went silent once again. It only took a few minutes for Ken to catch along.
"What about my sister, what happened, is she alright..."
Kens bombardment of questions were only making the pill of truth harder to swallow.
"Ken..."
"..."
"She's dead"
*SFX Dread*
The cloud of confusion, of mystery, of doubt that had swarmed over Ken had all disappeared, only to be replaced by overwhelming sadness and disbelief. Clutching his fists and looking up to the sky through the withered roof of the warehouse.
Ken cried.
Her cute smile, silly jokes playful character. Kens memories of her flooded his mind, as his tears flooded down his cheek. His last memory of her…their separation.
After their parents had died, Ken was deemed unfit to look after his little sister. Because of this, she was taken into adoption and looked after by two caring foster parents. Ken had lived his entire life from that point to today, assured that she was happy and in safe hands. Only to discover she had been slaughtered at the hands of some unkindly soul.
"The man behind it... Leonard Parcell. The same fucker you've been hunting for the past three years. The same bitch that got your parents killed-"
"..."
"That's beside the point. I have important information on Leonard, and I think it's in your best interest to listen."
"What's the catch gramps. I know you aren't going to let that information loose so easily"
"The catch? An even split"
"An even split?"
"Leonard Parcell is a merciless drug overlord. His fortune is worth more than you or I could imagine. If you work with me, and we end up killing him, I'll make an even split." he explained"
"Fuck the split. You can have all the money, killing that fucker is worth more than anything in this world."
"Then it's a deal?" proposed C-19.
"…" The warehouse was silent.
Ken opened his mouth to answer, but before he could make a sound they were met with the foot steps and shouting of a guard on patrol.
"Oi, you two. What're you doing here-" (noticing the weapons)
(To his radio) "Two trespassers, B sect- "
* SFX Gun shot* - BANG
*Pause*
*SFX Gun shell falling* - Ping
"You fucker. You didn't bother to tell me this place was guarded before deciding to meet here!?"exclaimed Ken, visibly fuming.
"Too late for that now. They know we're here, we need to get moving"
The pair hide the body, tucking it into a shipping crate, before sprinting out of the warehouse.
"There they are!" came a distant cry as all eyes were on the trespassing pair.
*SFX Gun shots ringing* BANG, BANG, BANG
"There!" C-19 exclaimed, pointing at a white van. The two sprinted to the white van.
"GET IN"
"YOU THINK I DONT KNOW THAT"
*SFX Engine revving* - RAtatatatata
The two boarded the van, revved the engine, and drove off, merely escaping the incoming shots from behind.
It was here, the golden glow that had been hiding away in the darkness began to reveal itself. The gun shots had ceased. All that was left, was a white van, driving off into the distant streets, basking in the glorious sunlight.
Oh what a "wonderful" day.
