Raylon's sharp glare bore into me, "What help could you possibly be?"
I looked at him carefully. I opened my mouth to speak but hesitated. I strengthened my resolve and spoke, "I can stop the corpses at least. I just need you to give me some magic."
"HAH!" His dark, hoarse laughter caused his scar to deepen hideously, "Not only do I not trust giving you my magic, but there is no way you could possibly defend yourself against these creatures. Even I AM struggling."
I smiled at him, "I have my ways. Don't you trust me?"
"Who would trust a shameless man like you?!"
I chuckled, "Good point. However, I'm not lying. Plus, I won't take much of your magic and you will also be able to recover from the loss. It's not like I'm stealing it and you won't ever get it back."
He just spat in anger and turned away to ignore me. I sighed and looked around. How else will I get magic? Should I ask Prince Leon?
