He looked at Yanarym and every hour a black spot would appear on any part of her body. Matteo gave her a white dress that was so thin that they could easily see if a quoko would be there so that they could rub it off… and despite seeing her almost naked body all for himself, he was not glad.
Sometimes she would start to scream and wail, and it would break his heart each time he had held her and suppressed her from trembling and hushed her from crying.
