"Betty, why did you even attempt that?" Ashely patted Betty on the back while she sobbed heavily.
"No matter where I go I'll still feel the same way about him....I'll still love him and i"ll still want to be with him. I can still feel him he's like everywhere. But I can't forget what he did. He lied to me he deceived me" she cried.
"But he loves you that am sure of"
Betty didn't say a word after...after a few minutes she fell into a deep slumber.
"Phoenix?" Matt asked as he sat beside Alicia.
Alicia nodded.
"So how long is she going to stay here?"
"As long as she wants" Alica replied curtly
"Why the attitude?" Matt asked with a smile
"Why the smile?" she asked back
"Get serious Alicia....stop fooling around and help your friend"
"Matt" Alicia screamed his name and rushed towards him. She blew a punch on his stomach and he "groaned" in pain and began to laugh.
"That hurts babe," he said hugging Alicia tightly
"Leave me you twitch"
"No" Matt disagreed and kissed her.
"Your lips taste sweet"
"ughhh" Alicia forced her away from his grip and gave him another hit on his stomach
"Won't you make dinner?" he asked
"Am not hungry"
"But I am babe," he said holding her back
"Then make your food"
"I can't...."
"Then let me be am not your housemaid you know?"
Matt frowned
"If you don't make dinner we'll have something else," he said in a deep and foxy voice.
Alicia scowled at him and ran into the kitchen.
"That's my girl" he tittered
"You'll pay for this Matt" she yelled from the kitchen
"I can't wait babe".
"Oh shut up"
"I think I'll join you," he said walking over to the kitchen. He kissed her on her neck while holding her waist
"Get out Matt"
Betty stood watching the two without making a sound. She didn't know when a tear fell down her eyes but she was quick to wipe it off.
"Betty are you?....."
"I'll talk to her" Matt interrupted Alicia.
Matt took Betty back to the sitting room.
"Are you alright?"
She nodded.
"You miss him right?" Matt said with a smile
"How did he know?" Betty thought
"I've been with Alicia for a long time so you can probably call me a woman's expertise.
"It doesn't exist" Alicia yelled making Betty laugh
"Stay strong everything would be alright" he comforted Betty.
"Dad, what happened?"
"She needed to be alone?"
"Just like that?" Niah asked and nix nodded. The children had been restless ever since the week ran through and they hadn't seen nor heard from Betty. Nix also wished he could stop her but he decided to let her go but now he was regretting it. He missed her smell, her touch...her voice he missed her so much he could run mad. He dialed her number and hopefully, she picked up
"Hello" her voice rang
"Betty?...."
"Nix....why?.."
"The children want to talk to you" he interrupted her
"Sis Betty, why did you leave?"
"Ididn'tt leave for long"
"When will you be back"
"Soon Niah"
They talked for a while before handing back the phone to nix
"I see you missed the children"
"Yes, I did".
"We'll I await your 'soon' return"
"Cough cough"
"The children might miss you but I miss you more" he blurted out with a smile
"Bye nix" and she cut the call.
Matt watched Betty hang up the call
"What?" she asked when she noticed his weirdly prolonged stare
"He misses you"
"It doesn't count".
"It does. Absence makes the heart grow fonder" Alicia added as she placed the food on the dining
"Food is ready my lovelies"
"Finally I almost died of hunger"
"I wish you did" Alicia added jokingly
"And you won't miss me?" Matt asked
