"Is anything the problem?" Niah asked
Betty shook her head and carried the girl on her lap.
"I'm looking for a new place to stay"
"You can come and stay here with us"
"Your leaving...don't you remember?"
The girl's lips formed an oh and her face fell
"Don't worry I'll find somewhere nice I'll stay"
"What if you come with us with our new family" the desperate girl suggested. Betty chuckled.
"It doesn't work that way"
"Why?"
"They are only here to adopt you and your brother and I'm not included because am a grown-up"
"But what if they accept you too would you come?"
Betty thought of what Niah said.....it was a good idea that way she wouldn't have to party with the twins and maybe just maybe she could work as a maid as an excuse to be with them.
Betty nodded
The girl's face lit up and she hugged Betty
"Where is your brother?" she asked
"Oh he's outside"
Niah ran out to get her brother just then a car parked outside and Betty felt her heart skip a beat. She already knew it might be the new twin's parents....before she could even get a sight of them she felt a hand drag her
"Ma..."
"They here..." ma sandy blurted. Betty nodded
"I'll go and talk with them before they take the twins with them" and she left. Betty hesitated. She thought about her discussion with Niah minutes ago. She racked her brain on how she would tell talk to them, and after a few long minutes of rehearsal, she went out.
She met a young beautiful lady in her thirties. She was blonde and slim to fit, her curled long black hair flowed down her bare shoulders.
"Good afternoon ma'am" Betty greeted. The woman looked at her and smiled.
"Please can I have a word with you outside?" Betty pleaded.
The woman looked at her for a while before giving her approval
"Sorry ma'am for wasting your time"
"It's okay am all ears"
"The twins have been under my care for a while and now that they have found their home I'm sure they'll be excited and I am too." she paused and continued
"I'll love to work as a maid to cater for them and your family too. If your mind" she said Bluntly
The woman glanced at the girl but before she could even say a word a tall masculine shadow resurfaced
"I do mind" the man agreed
Betty's face fell. Nix and his son Sajan had agreed to adopt the twins which made sajan super excited but nix had his plans on why he decided on that.
He asked Miss lin, Sajan's former teacher to accompany him to compensate for Rajan's mother for the meantime they'll be there to get the kids.
He stood behind Miss Lin baring his perfectly white teeth in front of Betty while holding Noah in his hand. Betty saw Niah and Sajan walk hand in hand behind Nix.
Nix turned to Niah
"Sister Betty said she'll want to go with us unless she doesn't want to?" he said to the girl while facing Betty
The girl left Sajan and ran to Betty
"Please come with us"
Betty who was still speechless could already feel nix grinning within himself, she knew he must be enjoying this now. Knowing that she could never reject the twin's offer she smartly used them against her but she wasn't going to buy it.
"No Niah"
"But you just offered to work as a maid?" Miss Lin spoke up
Betty fell silent at this
"Okay," she said plainly
Nix took the children with him to conclude things with Ma Sandy
"....Betty would be coming with us too," he said. Ma sandy looked at Betty
"I have no problem with that" she smiled at Betty and before they left she gave her a long hug and so did the other children in the orphanage.
The twins and Sajan sat behind Betty while Miss Lin and Nix sat in front.
"Must be his new wife" Betty thought
The car sped into the road and halted at the side of the road opposite a house.
"Would you be okay tonight?" Miss Lin asked picking up her purse
Nix nodded his focus still on the road. She picked up her things and stepped out of the car and took a long stare at Betty before the car sped out.
Betty felt disgusted by the way the woman looked at her but she waved it off.
"I'll have to get my bags" Betty reminded Nix of her bags that were still at Mayan's place.
"No need. Got you covered" he said plainly
She raised a brow
"Did he already think she was coming to stay with him??" she thought. She became suspicious of nix, who knew what else he had planned ahead of her coming?
