She cut the call While it was still halfway. She began to think of what Charles had meant to her, to her he was like her second best friend after Betty.
"Betty!!!" she couldn't believe it, she had forgotten about her
She quickly brought out her phone and dialed her number. It rang but she didn't pick it up. Lily was saddened through out the day she felt uncomfortable and angry at her self. once it was time for her to leave she rushed out of the building and rushed to Betty's place. On her way her phone buzzed and it was Charles but right now she didn't feel like talking to him. She drove to her house and quickly went straight to knock, after a few knocks the door opened but who she saw wasn't Betty it was there maid
"I'm looking for Betty" lily asked hoping for a positive answer
"Sorry ma but they aren't around" the woman said. Lily fell downcast, she walked out feeling hopeless. Then her phone buzzed again, this time she picked the call. Charles was surprised to hear lily sob
"lily what's the problem?"
"Did anything happen?"
"Lily talk to me!!"
"Did anyone touch you or abuse you"
Lily sobbed
"Where is Betty" she asked
Charles fell silent. He remembered Betty telling him not to let lily know she was gone. Betty felt bad that lily hasn't even told her about her new job. She had tried to console herself with the fact that maybe lily just got too busy but she had thought that lily didn't care if she couldn't make time for her. She decided to go on a trip with her parents just to see if lily would turn out.
"Where are you"
"Her house" and Charles cut the call. He drove there as fast as he could. He got down and approached lily who was already in tears, she ran to him and hugged him tightly her sobs getting heavier. He hated seeing her like this, each tear that fell from her eyes tore his heart into a million pieces.
"We could go and see her if you want" he finally said
Lily looked at him
"Really?"
He nodded
"But what of your work?" he asked her.
"Dont sorry about me"
"When are we going?"
"Tomorrow morning" and she hugged him
"Thank you"
They both got into the car and drove back home. Lily rushed to get her self ready while charles went home so they could be on time to catch the first flight. Charles thought of this time to bond with lily he smiled as he zipped up his box.
"Time for the next level" he smiled to him self.
Lily tried Betty's number alot of times yet she didn't pick up so she decided to send her a text message. Lily was too scared to read her reply. She couldn't bare loosing her only best friend, Betty was like a sister to her and she couldn't just loose her now. She curled up herself to sleep as drops of tears fell from her eyes
Betty opened her phone she was surprised at how many missed calls she got. She tapped it..
"lily?!" she didn't expect lily to contact her this soon. She thought maybe lily might feel very bad now but she decided to ignore the calls. Her screen lit up again and it was a text from lily.
Betty was so emotional after reading the message. she cried so hard, lily was everything to her and no matter what she couldn't let her go. She took her phone to reply the message when the phone tripped off
"Damn" she threw it on the floor
