Chereads / Camia the Mafia / Chapter 4 - 3. Dusts of Past

Chapter 4 - 3. Dusts of Past

CAMIA was left by her father lying on the ground, exhausted. Blood streaming down her forehead, yet, she didn't mind it. It was normal. She even has a bruise on her lips and she felt like her left had broke some limbs.

Her once neat and well-ironed uniform were now soaked with sweats and a bit of blood. She closed her eyes and let the wind touch her, whispering onto her, yet, she just couldn't get what it is.

'If only winds can talk.'

She put both of her arms on her face, covering her eyes as thoughts she has been holding in ran out of her mind.

Mafia. She wanted the mafia. She wants to lead 'their' organization. She wanted to be the only heir. In order for her not to be rejected as the sole heir, she should be the best among those possible rivals of hers.

And she's eccentric.

The organization seems uninterested with her because of her eccentricity. People in their organization doesn't like leaders who are not easy to read and to understand. That makes her position in danger.

'They want a leader who's stupid enough to be manipulated. Should I just make my own?'

Though that's what her thoughts are, she knew that she just can't get out from her old men's clutches. Both her old men, her father and grandpa, would rather suck the whole organization to her lungs than to have another heir who's not even related to them. Her old men wanted her to succeed the organization. Ever since her older brother led the mafia, he rebelled and turned it into chaos. Now, the burden are on her shoulders. If she wanted to empty her brother's position, she might just need to kill him. But if ever he dies on her hands, the organization's council…

'They don't want me to lead because I am not easy to impress and to manipulate. They can't even read me. How foolish. Council. I will annihilate all of you.'

She whispered on the wind. She then stood up and walked to the living room. As she was walking, she would always glance at the big family portrait that was hanging on the wall. But now, it was gone. She will ask her father about it tonight. She also glanced at the photo of the infant her and her four years old older brother. That picture is actually with their 'mother', but the photo was cut. It cut 'her' face. And she hadn't seen her ever since she was a baby. It seems that 'she's' just there in the picture just to be a memory who's not meant to be remembered.

She shook her head as she proceeded to her father's office. She has completely forgotten to ask what's the news of her prodigal older brother now.

CAMIA'S performance was utterly great. He will teach Camia how to hold a dagger next time. Even though it wasn't needed since Camia is already great holding and firing any types of guns.

He is ready to teach anything he knew. Camia is ready to be taught and might be, ready to atleast train inside a sponsored and exclusive frat, both in mind and tactics, that's what he thought.

'But she's still just so young.'

Caleb, Camia's father, held his forehead as he proceeded to his office. But sometimes, unfortune does stick to him like a leech.

"Sir, Ma'am Tatianna is seen outside the gate. She's been screaming Young Madame's name..." the maid hysterically said.

Caleb clenched his jaw. His hands turned fist, veins could be seen on his arms.

Tatianna 'was once' his wife. She actually never liked his 'job'. She was never interested nor involved with their organization or him being a mafia. So he thought it was fine that way. He thought, she accepted him and what he is. They never had closure, after all. She doesn't like talking with him. He thinks that she is just like that. He thought, she loves him with all her might.

He thought. It was always like 'he thought'. It's like he's the only one working and making efforts for their relationship. He was always left guessing. She never told him what she likes, what she wanted to do. She keeps everything to herself. She just won't open her mouth to either talk for her name or atleast to say her feelings with honey of lies. Never he had ever heard her said 'iloveyou's' to him. Ever. Even if it's a lie.

After giving birth to Lucian, his first born, he found out his ex-wife's illeberal affair with one of her co-workers. A family man he is, he forgave her. Simple. He loves her.

'I did loved her.'

Four years later, she gave birth to Camia. She was in deep bliss that's why he thought that he's already enough. With their children. That maybe, she won't commit the same sin anymore.

And not long, he was proven wrong.

He found them making out and almost naked, with only her undergarments seen, on their own bedroom, with Camia crying in her crib! He couldn't forgive anymore. He almost killed the bastard with his darken state of anger. No. He won't forgive her for betraying his family. For betraying and hurting him. He just can't bring himself to forgive. Even atleast for their children. No. His children doesn't need a woman like her. Like Tatianna.

His Camia doesn't need a woman like her.

A three month old Camia was left with only him, her brother Lucian and her old grandparents from both side. Tatianna was rejected by her own family. She came to her new man and she was accepted with open arms!

'Leaving my barely four years old son and my three months old baby that time. How come...How dare you step your filthy feet onto my house!'

Gritting his teeth, he told the trembling maid to lead the way.

But damn.

What made him more nervous is that, when he closed the lawn's door, he could still see on the glass door that Camia is still there, on the yard, lying!

'I just hope Camia left the yard already. Please. I'll leave your sodas in the fridge, just don't be on the yard.'

As they are walking, he walk pass the yard and saw nothing.

'Good. She might be in her room now. Trying her new brought make ups or maybe, playing her PS4.'

Caleb sighed as he saw someone's feet outside their gigantic gate. He signaled the guard to open it. He then met the familliar eyes of the hated woman he once let enter his life.

Shocked, and somehow, he could grasp a little happiness inside his heart, still, the anger for that woman and pity for his children surfaced.

"What are you doing here?" in seething anger, he asked. He is barely calm. Camia can't see this woman. Tatianna don't have the right to.

"I..I just want to see them, Caleb. P-please...Just o-once, Caleb, please." an elegant woman she is in a feminine suit, tried to kneel for her chance but the other woman beside her stopped her.

"You dared to step here in my property with that pitiful plead of yours? I heard you had an another child, why bother begging for mine?"

Tatianna widened her eyes and shook her head, "C-Cale–"

"Dad, what the hell is this commotion all about?"

Caleb froze with the lazy yet icy voice of his youngest child. He glanced at Tatianna who's jaw dropped and mouth hung open.

He slowly turn his head to Camia. Still wearing her uniform with a bit of blood on it but the bruise on her lips is highly appealing and noticeable. His face contorted.

His eyes came back to Tatianna, who's looking angrily at him now. Must be because of the bruise on her lips and her blood on her uniform.

"Dad, are you keeping an affair from me, hmm~?" the playful voice of his daughter made his froze more.

TATIANNA, who was standing there all along, had her heart shattered to pieces.

Her daughter...doesn't know her...at all.
