I gasped when I heard what he said.
"Jerk!"
"What did he want?" Bry asked wearily.
"He was asking who I was married to."
"He didn't know?" Uncle Jess asked in surprise.
"Apparently he did not." I responded but later on added, "It was not known that we got married. His parents strictly forbid us to tell anyone."
Uncle Jess just stared at me, dumbfounded I guess with what he just heard.
"And Ashton Kempt just went with what his parents demanded?" He asked again.
I nodded. He shook his head and looked at Ashton with great disappointment.
"And here I thought he is a decisive man since he was able to grow a company without the help of his parents."
Uncle Jess then turned his back to talk to someone on the phone again.
I went over to Ashton to check on him when I saw his eyes tightly closed and a tear trickled down the sides of his cheeks.
"He was awake." Jeff whispered to my ears.
