"What happened to the two girls?" Officer Scott asked, tension evident in his voice and the way he was seated.
Bry's crying intensified.
For me, I did not need the words to confirm what happened to those two little girls.
"I need to know what exactly happened to them!" Officer Scott bellowed.
"Let her cry for a bit, please." Jeff warded Officer Scott's aggressiveness. His arms circling Bry's trembling frame in an act of protection.
" But…" Officer Scott started to argue.
But dad stood up and towered over him and said in a quietly menacing voice, "I know that all you think about is solving this damn case and those cases that you might have before that. But no matter what we do, we can never bring those people back. My daughters are hurting because of your insistence.
