"Helena!" Mom was now screaming, alerting the entire household.
I flinched because of her shrill voice.
"Mom!" I called her attention. "What's wrong?"
"You nasty girl! I have been calling your name but you are not saying anything nor moving. I thought something bad happened to you."
I shook my head to show her that I was fine.
"Get up. You look really pale. You must have been in that water far too long already." She turned around and looked for a towel to hand to me while telling dad that all was fine and that she just panicked.
"I prepared something for you. Come down once you're ready."
I just smiled at her in gratitude. I just love having them for my family. They always got my back no matter what.
I took my time in preparing. I knew that when I came down, I will have to give a statement to Officer Scott and that is something that I am starting to dread.
