"Why is my client in total darkness?" An intimidating and booming voice made me jerk.
Intense light flooded the entire holding cell making me blink in response.
"What happened?" Officer Mills asked, looking at me with concern.
"I don't know. All I know is that I fell asleep and when I woke up I felt like someone was with me and I was right. He was here earlier when the room was in complete darkness."
I started shivering uncontrollably. I can't even control myself and my reactions anymore.
I was just terrified. Simple as that. Terrified of what my life will be tomorrow. Terrified that even if I do get sent to jail, hell will still follow me.
"You should better take care of my client or I will file a complaint against all of you. Let's see if you can still uphold the law if your licenses are removed."
