When I woke up, the sun was already streaming through the windows. I closed my eyes against the bright stream of sunlight. I felt light, as if none of the things in my memory happened.
I know it did. I am not delusional nor in denial. But I don't think anyone can blame me for wishing for a normal happy life.
I can feel someone moving inside the room and a familiar scent wafted in when he came closer. Probably to check on me again.
"Good morning." I whispered.
"Oh, you're awake." Ed muttered. "I tried to move quietly to not wake you up but I guess I failed."
"It's okay." I said with a yawn. "I wanted to get up anyway. I want to go to work, Ed."
"But you have to rest." He disagreed.
"I rested really well last night. I think crying it all out helped. By the way, is the nurse still here? I want to thank her."
"I call for Nurse Nelly. I think she is just about to get off work."
