I looked up when Ashton said those words. I never expected for him to believe me or to even seriously consider my ideas about what happened.
"What made you think that she has a point?" Bry asked skeptically. "You never believed her before, why believe in her now?"
"Bry!" I can not help raising my voice with what she said.
I wished she did not have to bring up the past like that and during this moment. I always think that there is a proper place and time for everything. We might be able to sit down one day and talk about what happened to us, but now is not the right time.
Ashton is doing his best to help me in my situation although he really doesn't have to. For that, I am grateful.
She seemed to have taken my silent warning into consideration since she immediately said, "Sorry. Way out of line."
"No. It's fine. You're right though, you know." Ashton admitted. Shame can be heard in his quiet voice.
