To say that I was shocked at the turn of events was ab understatement. I was so stupefied that I was rendered speechless. How did it turn out like this?
I was simply following what I was told? How did I become the bad guy?
"Are you not going to say anything?" Ashton demanded.
" Is there a point in saying anything sir?" I asked, honestly curious if it would make a difference. I was already tried and was found guilty even before Inwas able to air my defense.
"She can't say anything because of guilt. She knows that I have done nothing wrong. She knows that I have shown her kindness and treated her well. More than she deserves. Why don't you say something?" Mrs. Kempt knew that she has won.
She knew that no matter what I say, Ashton will never believe me since there was a witness to 'everything'.
"I won't waste my time in doing that. None of you are worth it any way." I answered, they were all hanging onto what I was about to say.
