Chapter 48 - I left some of my stuff here

"I saw you looking around. Did you feel that you are being watched again?" Ed asked the moment we were out of the company.

"Yes." I said with fear in my voice.

"Don't worry, I'm here and Jeff too. We won't let anything bad happen to you." he said in an assuring manner.

"Thanks Ed. I don't want to trouble you though." I responded. He just shrug and said, "Call Jeff for me please."

I did as he asked and when Jeff picked up, he said "Jeff? Dinner at Helena's place. We are on our way."

"Do I even get a say about this?" I asked sarcastically.

"We have to talk about the incident." he said. "It's not good for you to keep feeling this way. And I want Jeff to know about it too."

I just kept quiet. I am glad of the protection that I can get from both of them but at the same time worried that they might get hurt. I do not want people to suffer or be hurt because of me. I had that incident when we were younger and I vowed never to let anyone be hurt in place of me.

"Do you need to stop by the grocery store?" Ed asked.

"Hmmm. What do you want for dinner?" I asked.

"Fried chicken and some oriental rice, if it is not a hassle?" he asked petulantly like a child asking his mother to cook his favorite dish.

"Fried chicken and oriental rice then. I need to stop at the grocery store. I don't think I have enough chicken at home." I said happily. I always loved cooking. And cooking for people you like and are comfortable with is even better.

We drove silently and went into the store. Ed who was pushing the cart was drawing the attention of both the male and mostly female population. Why would they not take a look at him? He discarded his jacket and tie and left it in the car. He rolled his sleeves up his elbows and had a few buttons off revealing apart of his yummy chest.

Yummy! Helena, you are turning into a pervert. But I have to admit, seeing Ed doing some mundane task such as grocery shopping is really hot. I glanced at him secretly and a small smile appeared in my lips, yeah, he really looks extra hot today.

"I know you want me but can you pay attention to what we need to get, babe? We have been going around in circles and you have not gotten anything yet." he teased me in a loud voice making people around us look at me with amusement.

"Aw, she can't get enough of you." chimed the elder woman. "We were just like that when we were newly married." she said while looking fondly at the elder man beside her who like Ed was pushing the cart.

"Take it from me young man, it is better to let the ladies take charge of groceries. For the longest time, I can not in the life of me distinguish the difference between this milk and the milk that she wants." while looking at the carton of milk like it has committed a capital crime.

"Yes, sir." Ed replied respectfully.

"Well, we'll be on our way then." said the elderly woman and proceeded down the aisle for the milk that she wanted.

"Why did you let them think that we were married?" I hissed.

"Well, we will be in time." he said confidently which startled me. "Second, it would take more time to deny it and them not believing, so I just agreed to whatever they will say. You saw it right? They left after leaving that piece of advise." he said smugly.

I kept my mouth shut. He did have a point. They left after giving us an advise. I went through the aisle expertly. I have been in this store countless of times, so I know where to find the things that I need. After a few minutes we were at the counter, Ed fished out his wallet.

"I'll pay." I said.

"Well, that is going to be a problem, babe, since I was the one who invited Jeff over without telling you. So I will pay." he said.

"But you paid for breakfast already!" I disagreed.

"Please charge everything in my account." Ed told the cashier ending our argument.

When we arrived at my apartment, I saw Jeff waiting at the lobby already. He stood up and helped Ed with the bags.

"Did you wait too long, Jeff?" I asked.

"Nope. I don't mind. Its going to be a home cooked meal. I missed you cooking." he said sweetly.

"You make it sound like it has been ages, when it was just last Monday." I replied which made him smile all the more. I let them in and motioned for them to stay in the couch. I went inside the room and started changing into comfortable clothes. I wanted to take a shower but when I thought about the gentlemen in the living room I discarded the thought immediately.

When I came out, Ed stood up and walked into the bedroom which left me flabbergasted. Why? Jeff also looked at me with questioning eyes. I just shrug and went to the kitchen. I almost dropped the bowl that I was holding when Ed came out in comfortable clothes. He looked more handsome and hot than he does in his work clothes. I prefer looking at him in t-shirts and jeans. His biceps are really ripe. He is more on the lean side than those men who are buff. His jeans also gave definition to his muscled thighs. I guess it became more defined due to his jogging routine.

I unconsciously licked my lips thinking about those biceps and thighs made me thought of what transpired between us this morning. I did not notice that he was looking at me, when I licked my lips causing his eyes to take a darker shade of gray. He cocked his head on one side and looked at me from head to toe. His eyes lingering on my lips causing it to dry all the more. I can just imagine the thoughts running through his mind right now. I can't help the shiver that ran through my body.

I shook my head as if trying to cast the haze of desire that is clouding my mind. This sexual tension is making me dumb. I haven't felt this kind of tension with anyone before.

Ed can really make me feel so many things.

"How did this happen?" Jeff asked the question I should have asked. He was motioning Ed's casual clothes.

Ed looked at where Ed is pointing and he shrugged.

"I left some clothes here before we left this morning." he said casually and took a seat beside Jeff. His dwarfing the couch because of his height. The entire living room looked really small because of both of them. He ignored the incredulous look that Jeff gave him and switched on the television like he owned the place.
