Lunch time was done but Ed was not able to show up. He was also not at his desk when we came back. I wonder where he went.
I can't call him since I pretended that I knew nothing. So all I can do is wait for him and pray that nothing bad has happened to him.
I dove into the second task assigned to me like I was hounded by ghosts. I did not want to think of where Ed was since he made sure that I would not know about it.
Before I knew it, it was time to get off work. Ed did not return after lunch. This really made me worried so I called him. I was surprised that he actually picked the phone up. That means he was not entirely avoiding me.
"Are you ready to leave work?" he asked.
"Yes. Did you have lunch?" I asked. I know it was irrelevant but I cannot bluntly ask him his whereabouts. I know that he would tell me if it is time for me to know it or if I really need to know it.
