She had just stepped ou of his office. This had been the 19th job interview she attended but so far, she was given any job. One would say lady luck was not on her side. Besides that she badly needed money for her father's treatment.
He was on the verge of death only a miracle could save him. A deadly tumour in his heart was not a cheap ailment to cure, it needed the best cardiologist who was expensive to hire. As if that wasn't enough, her father's hospital bill was still not taken care of.
She sighed in frustration, the price she needed to pay was too much. She could not stoop so low to sell her body to some man or even work in a brothel. Jane ran a hand through her soft silky hair which had now turned rough.
Her mind was in a frenzy, she could not ask any of her relatives for money because she knew there would not be of any help to her rather than insult her or bring up the topic of her mum.
She took out a photo of her father and herself when she was still young. Even though she had a partial memory, she remembered that incident too clearly.
Her dad stuffed cotton candy in her mouth while he tried coaxing her to look at the camera. Jane got angry and pushed her pink teddy bear on his face.
'Dad, dad, will you always feed me cotton candy every day.' The little girl said as she stared at her dad with her big pearl eyes.
'Always my dearest, always. Now be a good girl and look at the camera.'Her dad replied as he hugged his daughter and pecked her chubby cheeks.
Jane did not realise she had drawn much attention to herself. Tears kept on rolling down her cheeks as she wiped them with her drenched handkerchief smiling. Those who passed could not help but murmur at her behaviour which seemed too strange.
Meanwhile, a young handsome man stared at a girl who seemed too hard to comprehend. His left eye down to his cheekbone had a mask that covered it from sight. Though his face seemed expressionless, it hard for people to know what he was up to, his mind was on a rampage mixed with multiple emotions even himself could not understand.
Both curiosity, doubt and many emotions he wished to get rid of.
'Jane is that really you' The man was in a dilemma, his thoughts were in a rollercoaster ride.
"Jason should I find out the information about her" His assistant said, seeing his boss slightly nod he took it as his cue.
"Should we approach her" His assistant was persistent seeing his boss was not ready to make the first move.
