Chereads / Rim of Reality / Chapter 5 - Revival

Chapter 5 - Revival

Lifeforce retrieved.

"Gah!" Silas revived with an ugly exasperation.

His eyes and body refocused as he groggily stood up and saw the scenery around him.

It was a dark green plain that stretched for a long while,

He rubbed his eyes and walked with an ache and hand on his side.

"One minute into this new world and I almost died..." Silas determined.

He walked across the grassy plain with a crunch in every step, walking for about 10 minutes before he encountered something, a bright blue oblong jelly-like creature jumping around.

"[Truth]."

'...' Suddenly, Silas found truth to be extremely useful.

He approached the slime from a normal stance of a sneak attack, when he was two meters before the slime, he jumped out with both hands.

The slime jumped away just as Silas was about to catch it, it readied its guard and looked like it was about to jump at him.

It was quite the situation for Silas who currently had no weapon to defeat it with.

He thought of a solution by tying the jupe-strewn patch around his arm and quickly did so while staring intently toward the slime that was on guard.

After he had successfully tied the patch to his arm, it looked like a green armguard that was tightly wrapped around his arm.

He waved it around to check its integrity, and it was successfully able to hold on.

Silas looked back at the slime and had confidence he could defeat it without injury.

With a serious face, he jumped again at the slime, this time, the slime angrily stopped moving, hoping its corrosive skin could injure this attacker.

Silas stomped at bashed his covered arm into the Feromid, causing ripples to appear on its form and small pieces of Feromid to fall off, Silas didn't stop there and kept bashing it with his arms while it could basically do nothing.

10 seconds later, the slime turned into a gloopy mess of itself with nothing to spare.

The little essence that the slime had converged into a small streak of light purple light that split into two to disappear into Silas's eyes.

He had wondered what had just happened before a small burst of information occurred in his head.

{The absorption of the essence in the soul occurs in the eyes, those with any amount of [Aura] contemplated will have their respective aura's come out to assist in the convergence of essence, making it more seamless and effective, even amplifying the effect based on the aura's rank.}

Suddenly, as the streak of light was absorbed, an extremely black arch of light swung deeply in his eyes accompanied by a mist of darkness, it was the [Aura of Void] that Silas had contemplated 1% of before. The streak of blue light from before quickly turned into a spray of glittering particles as soon as it entered the mist of the [Aura of Void] and was immediately attracted to the small black arch's deep in his eyes, forming a resplendent show of something that would make one insane just by looking at it.

As soon as all the blue light disappeared, the arch's of black light and mist retracted back into his eyes.

He felt something occurring deep within his soul, like a meter was being filled.

BOOM!

Silas felt a huge sensation overcome his body, he felt as though he had reached a small bottleneck in something, but it quickly broke through because of a deep dark light that was accompanying it.

{[| Gradue : [Concleta - F-major - ] | 2% to next gradue. |]}

Deep within Silas's soul, with a pitch-black background with small lights sparkling in the distance, a few small objects were born, one was a very small black and purple stick-looking object, that looked like it had held a small bright object on its tiny hilt, one was an extremely foreign object that was a black cube, it had extremely sharp edges and was slightly opaque but one could still see inside it, and the last was a ring, it was a pitch-black ring with a single small crystalline convergence in its center. But there was one more thing that seemed overarching, it seemed extremely important and imposing as it sat in a completely different part of his soul.

Unknown...

He couldn't see what it was, as if shrouded by a blacken mist, and foggy backdrop, something that was unreachable for him now.

"Truth."

{| Truth's realm is far too low. |}

Silas pulled his focus back to the three objects, he had a feeling about something...

He pulled out his hand and a ringing sound rang out inside his mind.

Instantly, three objects spawned on his hand, the ring, the cube, and the small stick.

He placed the ring on his finger, which instantly disappeared, a burst of truth rang out.

< ??? Is far too weakened to ??? >

So pragmatic...

The stick and cube almost instantly vanished from existence as Silas went to fiddle with them.

It was the same thing as before, the notification of sorts rang out for both of them.

< ??? Is far too weakened to ??? >

...

Silas sighed as he began walking again in the same direction.

``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ~ 1 hour later.
Silas surprised himself with how long he was able to walk without collapsing, he had a good idea of his physique earlier and was quite confused about how this had happened.
He pondered for a few minutes, but finally, he let it go as he had just seen the small outline of a village of sorts in the distance.
"Finally..." He was seriously worried he wasn't going to find civilization before he collapsed and died from exhaustion.
He picked up his pace as he gradually was able to see a clear outline of the walls.
They were about 10 meters in height, with multiple guards and sentries stationed above the walls like a castle would, the wall was a clear white and stone, but he was honestly quite surprised at how large the wall was considering how it would topple over normally at that height and no support.
As he approached the wall,
"Griffen, you have no clue what you are talking about, she's way out of your league..." said a burly man with a huge sword attached to his back, a long pair of fitted pants, and a white top on with a crescent symbol of two staffs crossing. He scoffed and smirked at Griffen.
"Yeah, maybe if that stupid and lazy fifth prince didn't catch her damn fancy, and shut up Jaxcon." Griffen acclaimed, he frowned at Jaxcon's teasing, he himself was slightly lean and shorter than Jaxcon, he had a weird-looking stick to his belt and three vials of mysterious liquid to his right side.
"Just focus on the job, you two." said another man elsewhere.
"Yeah, yeah." Jaxcon rolled his eyes.
Griffen sighed and kept looking over the wall, he saw a young man slowly walking over to the village walls, he quickly stood up and yelled at the boy in haste.
"State your purpose and event, boy!" Griffen stated loudly and his chest ballooned.
Silas yelled back, "Uh, I recently just was teleported into this world!?"
Griffen raised his eyebrow, and Jaxcon and a few other men came running over.
"A warped?" asked another man.
Jaxcon nodded and nodded once again to Griffen who was currently waiting for permission.
Griffen then turned back to Silas and pointed directions, "The entrance to this village is to the south-west, keep following the wall, I will attach a directional aura to you now." Griffen's hands then twisted and reformed weirdly and sporadically, until they suddenly stopped and a weird symbol was created with his hands.
For Silas, a light came rushing towards his head at speeds unrecognizable and implanted itself.
A weird but pleasurable feeling occupied his senses for a moment, then dissipated with new information to light.
All of a sudden, he knew exactly where the main gate to the village was like a memory were just directly imprinted within his mind.
The green grass swayed lightly with the breeze as Silas made his way to the main gate.
He was thinking about just how weird this world was, this place seemed so surreal, there were no annoying pests in sight, only beautiful creatures here and there with an unnatural amount of natural wind.
As he was walking he decided to enter his so-called 'directory' obtained from [Infinitio Acies].
woosh
split!
Silas panicked as he felt his entire body being transported immediately to a weird place...
He looked around in panic but calmed down once he realized he could leave, this was the 'directory'.
As he looked around him, he found that the more he had attempted to realize his surroundings, his mind had become more foggy and disconnected, eventually, his thoughts dissipated after he had tried realizing what was happening for too long.
"Gah!" Silas gasped with air after he felt a reconnecting, and finding himself inside of the exact same beautiful plane, his mind ran at an extremely fast pace trying to find out what had just happened,
What just happened?
Why was my mind doing that...
I wasn't even able to see the inside of the directory...
He really wanted to cast [Truth] to find out about what had just happened, he had too many questions after all.
He put it aside for now, and kept walking with a grave step toward the same aura, unfortunately, he hadn't realized that his body was 10 meters forward than before...
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````` ~ 10 minutes later -

"I have arrived at the gate..." Silas gazed at the 10-meter gate in front of him, it was much more protected than the walls, many guards were stationed right outside, with spears two times their height, and dangerous tips that could kill Silas with a poke, he knew this, of course, and approached the gate.

5 of the 10 guards peered at Silas, noticing something that spiraled serenely around his body, and allowing him inside with a nod.

Silas walked inside with a calm gaze, the first thing in front of him was a large road, that looked like it had ended somewhere near a fountain, with a bustle of a multitude of people running towards somewhere

Seeing Silas confused, a huge amount of people noticed him and motioned for someone to help him, one person walked over to Silas with a smile, "Are you a [warped]?" He asked.

Silas responded, "Yeah, I found my way here after some time."

"Then follow me, rounding of all the warped is happening, where sects across [Terram Aurouris] can ask for promising warped to join! Our small but peaceful village was nominated as one of the holdings for this decade, so we are really lucky to witness really powerful personages coming over!" He spoke with an excited smile whilst walking at a fast pace.

"Holdings...?" Silas wondered

Silas mysteriously found that as soon as he started approaching the area where people were bustling, the air around him started trembling, and a faint pulling came from a certain direction.

Seeing Silas's expression, the man said with a smile, "You should be receiving Urial's sense by now, just follow where the sense tells you, I'll be waiting at the consumer's seat." He motioned with a wave.

Silas nodded and followed the strange feeling for a while, moving through a crowd, he spied his surroundings weirdly, his arcane mind wasn't just for show as he was very intelligent and mindful.

He noticed that the style of the buildings was extremely exotic, they were medieval and vintage, they had rounded and triangular roofs, some of the bigger houses were literally floating in the air with majesty, but those were numbered very few, likely because of the fact that this was a small and rural village.

The people he passed were slightly beautiful, they all wore simple clothing such as white t-shirts, denim pants and were very elegant, Silas was even surprised that the magnitude of this 'village' was so large, there was not a single speck of dirt in sight, everything looked surreal.

After Silas walked across the marble streets with houses off to his left and right, he noticed that every person who looked slightly more elegant than the others rode on some sort of device that floated high in the air, it was narrow and streamlined and was a flat board, some had different designs that others and some were faster than others, some even had some sort of aura floating around the person riding it. Silas wished he had one because he was tired of walking through these bustling crowds.

[ Lunarian Sense ] ~~ Soul Ability 1st ~

A huge array of colour spread out across Silas's vision, swirling slowly and denser in some areas than others, an array of a blinding white overcame most of his sight.

He looked around in amazement that, even though there was a blinding light that was supposed to cloud his vision, he could see everything clearly, as if he had 4 eyes.

After standing still in shock and awe for a while, he turned off [ Lunarian Sense ] for the time being, and walked adamantly to the location the aura was still drawing him to.

The crowd became more and more condensed, he saw more and more people with excitement and anticipation, talking to each other.

Laughing and excited squeals overcame the silence of the street.

"It's about to start, hopefully, my son has made it there already..." said a beautiful middle-aged-looking woman with a worried face.

Silas's eyes popped, [[ Vile Haste ]].

Silas suddenly felt an unknown aura imbue itself into his muscles,

Boom!

He sprinted at full speed skipping crowds.

The guards around the area knew exactly why this boy had activated his aura, so they didn't detain him for a violation of the rules of the holding.

Two guards were actually surprised at the speed of the boy especially because of him being newly warped, he must've gotten a really good physique to obtain that speed.

Both guards smirked and were quite downtrodden that they didn't get to witness this decade's event.

The wind blew past the crowd as a boy going 25 miles per hour ran past them, they all had gotten a taste of his aura when he activated it, so they weren't surprised at his speed.

Silas really couldn't care less about the crowd, he smiled creepily while running with a small chuckle.

Finally, he had arrived where the aura had drawn him to, his muscled ached, and weird exhaustion overcame his mind, he walked inside a huge building amongst a crowd waiting outside, it was a hall, and a very large one at that, a pure white light blinded him, as he walked inside.

About 100 different teenagers sat in a cross-legged position, below a heightened platform that contained about 13 different figures.

Silas walked in and sat behind one of the kids, he looked at the figures with curiosity before a light feeling overcame his head, a number was carved into the marble ground just in front of him,

Number '104'.

Silas now ascertained all these teenagers as newly warped, and that the numbers were for traditional reasons.

All warped sat in complete silence, their backs straightened with serious expressions. Some kids had huge scars across their faces, some had completely unscarred faces with an elegant stature, a sea of different styled hair and hair colour flowed like a wave with height differences, most were very tall.

Suddenly, one of the 13 figures stood up and walked to the middle of the heightened platform just afar from the 100 young adults. He was a very aged-looking man with a long wavy grey beard and long hair that flowed weirdly without wind, he wore a bright white cloak that went to his ankles, strange patterns were engraved into the beautiful clothing that looked completely surreal. His eyes were alert and looked seriously at the 100 young adults with his hands to his sides.
