Because of my bad sleeping posture last night, I crane my neck side to side as I open the door to my apartment. The sight that immediately greeted my eyes was that of a corpse.
Now mind you, it wasn't a human corpse or anything. It was the corpse of a rat judging by the tail. Its body was just torn to bits at this point, the rat was given no mercy.
The foul smell of a dead rat then hit my nostrils which made me wince.
Pinching my nose to cut off the smell, I saw the culprit of this crim, with an uninterested face, just looking at me.
I alternate from looking at her to looking at the mess on my carpet a few times before giving up.
Grabbing the broom and dustpan in my cabinet, I quickly get to work on cleaning the murder my cat just attempted. I sweep up the body onto the dustpan, then I drop it into a plastic bag.
Wrapping the plastic bag up, I throw it into my trash can.
"Hopefully the bag can cover up the smell until the truck comes..." I hope before looking back at my cat.
Despite the mess she's made, she still cleaned up a rodent in my apartment.
"Thanks, girl."
And surprisingly, she responded with a faint, "Meow~" before curling herself up and going to sleep.
I smiled but then I realized, "I... I wanted to eat on the table, Lily..."
Oh yeah, I also need to clean the blood off my carpet too...
