As he stood there confused beyond comprehension, William could only voice his concerns.
"What are these system point things?" He questioned.
And he struggled to form even the slightest guess regarding this matter, so it was the best idea to be cooperative and simply ask.
[System points are your best friend, as you can buy various upgrades with them]
"Are the upgrades any good?" He pressured.
William hadn't yet understood the point of these upgrades, mostly because he didn't have enough time to think about them.
Either way, he didn't have any hope towards them and waited for the system to confirm it.
[The upgrades can improve and strengthen various attributes of yours,]
[Specifically, there are; primary upgrades, secondary upgrades, intelligence upgrades, and arcana upgrades]
Such a statement only made everything more confusing, so he awaited for these odd things to be described further.
Thankfully the lady in his head cooperated towards such a matter, [Would you like to hear out all of the primary attributes you have?]
"Yes… anything to help make sense out of this." The good man agreed.
Afterwards, he walked towards one corner of the street and sat down on the rough, darkened stone that coated the area.
He wanted to properly focus on what the system had to say next. Likewise, it was reasonable to lay his back on some random wall right here, and avoid every creature that walked across this street.
[The following statistics will list out your primary upgrades,]
[For clarity's sake, each one of these capabilities are upgradeable, but new ones won't be added]
A moment later, William could only comment. "That sounds a bit unfair, but at least it's kinda stable."
[It's extremely stable. Each upgrade has different prices because you need some attributes now more than later.]
"Okay... but can you tell me about these upgrades now? I feel like we forgot about them." The good man reminded.
[Right, sorry. There's just a lot to teach you, far more than the hantonic disease would allow]
Before the snakezoid could panic about that matter, the system cited. [Anyway, your primary capabilities are the following...]
[Bodily strength = level-one]
[Bodily durability = level-zero]
[Fang venom = level-three]
[Sex appeal = level-zero]
[Bodily speed = level-two]
[Natural camouflage = level-two]
[Vision senses = level-two]
[Sniffing senses = level-five]
"That's a lot to remember..." The good man mumbled.
Afterwards he pressured, "So those levels tell how strong each attribute thing is, right?"
[Correct, and neither of these current levels are permanent, as you can upgrade them all through purchases]
"That's why I need system points," Willaim added.
[Correct! You catch up quickly]
[Now it's worth it to point out that primary skills are the cheapest of all branches since they all are essential to survival]
[With that said, I should introduce you to a few small tasks which reward you with system points]
Such a statement was beyond intriguing, so he had it easier to follow along.
Likewise, he asked. "So I can buy a few upgrades right?"
[Correct again, you're rather smart for an eighteen-year-old boy. We might have to explore your intelligence branches later]
Such a statement was most definitely intriguing, but this fine young man wanted to focus on the prior topic.
Likewise, he followed along. "Thank you. Now tell me about those quests, I don't want to die here."
For that matter, he also jokingly commented. "I'm pretty sure that these snakes would eat me if I died."
[Oh most definitely. Although this world is expansive with various traditions, each civilization prefers to eat the corpses of the deceased]
"Well they are snakes.... so that's okay I guess?" William reminded.
[Yes but this tradition is still crazy. Anyway we need to put you through a few tasks that aid survival,]
[They can really help you in these early stages of this new life.]
"I'm all ears," The young man assured.
[Side task number-one = Find and wear a fur coat]
[After you succeed, you will be rewarded with fifty system points]
In an instant, the snakezoid boy cited. "That sounds pretty easy."
In theory, it did sound easy, but the system was quick to taunt. [Well you're wrong there for once, but you'll figure out why soon enough.]
Although his heart pounded faster thanks to that statement, he chose to stay quiet; the system seemed to have more to say anyway.
[Side task number-two = Find and eat any type of food]
[As a reward, you'll receive thirty system points once this task is completed]
"It almost sounds like you're pitying me, a reward like that sounds too good to be true." William tried to joke.
But his tone cracked in the middle of the sentence, so such an expression came out as awkward. That and he sounded like an old trumpet.
[You died and migrated here from another galaxy. There's no reason to make your life even tougher]
"Fair enough," He cooperated.
Afterwards he was ready to hear what the system had to say, although he wasn't sure what to expect.
[Side task number-three = Find a library, and obtain information about the giant blue-bee]
[That and, you need to find more information about the hantonic disease, the same one that has afflicted you]
[The completion of this task, will reward you with one-hundred and twenty system points]
"That sounds like a lot," The teenage boy was quickly impressed.
[Yes, technically you aren't supposed to receive a reward like that. But your health is bad, so you could use tools that would speed up your progress]
Such a statement made sense to a certain extent, but something else confused the boy.
So he had to pressure, "Wouldn't it be easier if you told me everything about the blue-bee?"
[It would be, but how would you master the arts of survival, if everything was readily available for you?]
"I'd just die quicker right?" He asked.
[Correct,]
"Shouldn't be too hard to find a library then," He expressed.
And then he took a couple of seconds to stand up straight. Every new quest of his made it apparent that he had to move in order to progress.
For that same matter, he uttered. "Okay I need to find some food first, I feel like I haven't eaten in a month."
Just a few moments later he pondered, "I have a family here right? Maybe I should head back home and get some food there?"
He had a couple of memories that the past body owner had left behind, but these memories weren't enough; in other words, he couldn't figure out where his home was.
Likewise, that was why he asked the system about blood family in this new world.
[Barely anyone has an entire family here,] The system revealed.
And continued to unravel such odd information, [The rules of nature might be different in your past world, but here, mothers tend to abandon their laid eggs]
"Nature works like that on my planet too, uh so yes this is a problem, it's going to be even harder to find any food." He muttered.
And as he walked down the street, William put in quite some effort to comprehend this new world.
Sure the system proved beyond useful, as she gave out more than enough information, but such aid didn't make this world easier to observe.
He had it beyond difficult to accept that he too could transform into a snake, and would eventually need to do so.
William made sure to accept this reality bit by bit, one step at a time, but he felt sure that it would take a long while until he adjusted here.
A hint cooperated towards that matter. For example, he'd only been here for a few minutes but already felt beyond mentally exhausted; to the point where he didn't even feel like himself!
At the moment he derived half of his attention away from the thoughts that raged in his mind, just so he could focus more on these surroundings.
But all of his tiny and yet forceful attempts were tossed to the ground, as a rough scene was quick to erupt right in front of him.
A group of ten snakes, which were all coated blue in color, unleashed a form of havoc across the street!
Their features were distinct, as these snakes in particular were buff and big; it was hard to miss them.
As for the havoc they caused, these crude creatures practiced what was no different from a massacre!
They attacked random citizens and used their two-meter-long swords in order to deliver whatever twisted message they had.
It was difficult to understand if this thick-headed attack had a complex motive, but it was no secret that these foul attackers were dangerous.
Worse yet, one of these large blue snakes locked eyes with William and then slithered across the dark-coated street.
In all ways possible, it was easy to understand what this six-foot-tall snake intended to do!
