By nature, William wasn't one who cared much about society. The world could burn for all he cared, and he wouldn't intervene.
Such life choices were costant, even when he wasn't overwhelmed by the psychotic, and highly narcissistic effects of the demonic persona which he recently inherited.
In all ways possible, he didn't care to follow society's affairs. Yet there still were some rare cases, where he had a small sense of pitty.
These couple of kids he found, in this seemingly abandoned city section, most definitely brushed a few heart strings. William had to defy his own nature, just because it didn't feel fair for a few kids to suffer!
At that merciful pace, he even offered. "Come with me, let's go somewhere safe. You can tell me more about your parents there."
