The doctor looked upset. "Why didn't you tell me earlier that Serena was ill?"
I got up from my seat. "But I wasn't sick doctor."
The doctor looked at me inquisitively. "Jimena told me you have been sleeping for two days. This is not very normal you know. Come to the bed, lie down to examine you, I need to get rid of my anxiety."
"But I'm fine," I complained.
"Please come. If the Captain finds out that I didn't examine anyone on the boat who may have been ill I will find my trouble. Would you like that?" he asked me and looked at me straight in the eyes.
I retreated. "No, I wouldn't want that, doctor," I replied, staring at the floor.
"Very good. That was I thought too. Come, lie on the bed so I can examine you."
I obeyed his instructions and lay down on the bed.
"Open your shirt to auscultate your heart." He told me after Jimena brought him one of the chairs and sat next to me.
