'I need to learn how to keep my emotions in check. Someone could easily take advantage of me if I don't, especially in this world with so many dangerous people crawling around.'
She didn't know what came over her but, she got up more earlier than usual. The sky was still a bit dark and the sun was barely shining through.
Her heart was a bit more panicked than usual today.
'I need to calm myself.'
She sat down after finishing up her usual routine and started to meditate.
Kakashi woke up early as well due to Veronica, he was surprised to find the whole house quite messy. It had been a silent agreement between the two that they would split up the chores in half. Today though, it seemed she had other plans.
Worried for his housemate he glanced at her before he decided to clean it all up himself.
He noticed her building up her chakra reserves and was visibly confused. He knew that she only did that after school to relax and calm herself down if the children annoyed her too much, after his own suggestion to add that to her training. He couldn't think of a reason for the change and shrugged it off, thinking that she might not have gotten enough sleep.
He picked her up and placed her on the chair to eat breakfast.
"What-" -Veronica
"I'm going to be making breakfast today. You don't have to worry about a thing."-Kakashi
He gave her his infamous eye smile while Veronica slowly calmed down from suddenly being carried.
'I don't have to worry about a thing? Huh.'
Veronica could see him smiling underneath his mask and she gave him her own smile. The same smile that she had practiced in front of the mirror. The same smile that fooled everyone. The same smile that she had when she didn't know what she was feeling.
Can I call you Kaka-san?> He sweat dropped at the new name and just sighed before continuing with making breakfast. She took that as a yes and she could feel herself enjoying the silence. It wasn't completely silent but just enough to make her feel at home and remind her- 'Ah. I did it again. I can't stop thinking about Lily these days. I need to move on. I need to... forge- Let her live in the past and not in the present.' After a while, Kakashi felt a small finger poking him on the side. He turned to see the little girl he was forced to live with. He raised his eyebrow, to indicate she had his attention and read the small note in her hands. He visibly flinched and Veronica could see a blush forming on his face. Well, what was visible of his face. He didn't know what to say to the kid in front of him and he could see that she was enjoying teasing him. Though she did try to control her giggles. He also knew that kids should not have been able to read that book, considering that the language used would probably not be understandable to the kid. "N-No, I read it because of the plot."-Kakashi It was a lame excuse. He noticed how less tense she was around him and the thought did make him happy but he did not like her reading his Icha Icha paradise. *Keep your face towards the sunshine and the shadows will fall behind you.* Heading off to school, she was excited to see more people today. Her first day at school had been both good and bad and although she didn't like sitting in class for hours, she did like learning new things about people and observing them. She had joined Naruto in one of his pranks which had made Iruka quite mad but anyone could easily see that he was very happy for the both of them. She met up with Hinata, Sakura, Ino and even Tenten, which was a surprise considering she isn't even in the same class, and they decided to form their own small girls group. Veronica or Tenten always had to make sure that Sakura and Ino didn't fight and that Hinata wasn't left behind though. They were the big sisters of the group one could say. Veronica always found Sakura and Ino's fights either to be hilarious [because of the creative insults] or boring [because all they fought about was Sasuke]. Veronica knew for a fact that these girls had a lot of potential and the series didn't do them justice at all. Sakura could very well be a genjutsu master and be the best medic nin, she was a Kage level shinobi in the original series after all. With her knowledge she may even be a master of senbon and poisons. Tenten and Ino could be the best attack and support team out there. Although the Ino-Shika-Cho formation was good but if they only stuck to that then there wouldn't be any improvements at all. Hinata had amazing martial arts but if she had a proper goal and the determination from the start, she may as well have been as good as Neji. Not only that but, if Hinata was able to master a long range weapon then she would be someone you never want to anger. Plus, if the girls focused more on ninjutsu as well and add that to their already list of deadly attacks then Veronica wasn't sure if she wanted to think of what would happen to their opponents. She knew that she certainly wouldn't want to fight them. Now that she was focusing on the girls attacks, she wondered what would happen if they decided to get into the T&I department. Deciding to not continue that line of thought, mostly out of fear of what they could do, she found herself in front Ichiraku. Focusing back to her conversation with the bright blonde beside her, she tried to convince him to eat proper foods. "But ramen tastes so good Vero-chan~!"-Naruto I'm just saying you have to eat other things beside Ichiraku ramen.> "So you're going cook for me?!"-Naruto Naruto was absolutely ecstatic and Veronica was sure she saw flowers and stars in the background for a second. This was the first time he was going to a friends house and his grin was even brighter than normal. He saw she had a weird look on her face after hearing him agree so excitedly though. Immediately fixing her mistake, she smiled at him again and the two went on their way. She patted his head while giving the note and the two looked absolutely adorable at that moment. --- --- --- --- --- Meanwhile, Kakashi sneezed and shuddered somewhere. He wondered who was talking about him. "Are you alright my rival?! You shouldn't get sick easily, it is unworthy of my rival!!!"-Gai He just ignored him like usual and went along with whatever he said. He was too tired to deal with him. Well, he was tired everyday. He thought back to his conversation with her and couldn't help but agree with what she said. Although, it ended up making him more suspicious of her as well. But he also knew that children are forced to grow up as well. He was a prime example of that. He was still bothered with the fact that all her wounds which would take an average ninja at least a month to heal were gone in a day. Although the medic nin did heal a lot of her injuries as most of them were in a vital place in her body, it still didn't decrease her chance of being someone with too much power or something dangerous that needed to be put down. He had seen her cut her finger on a knife accidently once and it healed at a completely normal pace. He, or even herself he guessed, didn't know what was going on. 'Her blood test is coming in soon, we should be able to find out who she is soon enough.'
