Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 01: Lemons and Lemonade

Freezing water from the sea touches my skin as I kept on walking towards the cold deep ocean, luring myself with agony. I wanted to break through but no one cared, I carried all of the burden by myself alone. Everyone thinks that I'll be fine without a company, never thought about crawling back to me. As the moon got engulfed by the clouds, my heart started to pound loudly when I heard my phone interruptedly rang from my pocket, "It's an unknown number.." I uttered to myself then answered the call silently, only the cry of the ocean touched by the blast of wind from the horizons can be heard. "Hi mom‚ Merry Christmas. I love you always, take a good care of yourself. Okay?" In my great surprise I clenched onto my chest as a lone tear rolled down my cheek. The memories I tried to burry from the past came back to me, the pain that once again opened the wound that never had the chance to heal. As if I got striked by a towering waves of the sea.

"Mommy! I'm homeee" Mich came home running towards her mom, she gave her a tight hug with her sweet iconic smile that can melt everyone's heart. "What now?! If you're just about to disturb me by those none sense you got, get lost!" Felisse shouted, giving her daughter a furious glance. For an 8 year old kid treated in an inappropriate manner, would immediately feel upset and hurt but as for Mich, she believed that it's just her mother Felisse, showing her way of loving her daughter. Mich headed to the living room and accidentally bumped onto the vintage vase her mother bought from Italy, the loud noise echoed through the walls of the room as Felisse hurriedly went to where her daughter was. As soon as she found out that it was her expensive vase that is now shattered into pieces, she walked over to Mich and slapped her out of anger. She then pulled her hair harshly and a great disappointment can be seen through her mother's eyes as she yelled at her daughter. "Do you know how much that vase costs me?? Huh!?‚ you never did anything useful for this family yet you still manage to keep on ruining my life!?" for the first time, the poor little girl started to cry while holding weakly on her mother's arm and pushing lightly to loosen her mother's grip on her hair, begging for her to let go. "I-I'm sorry mommyy!" Felisse startled from realizing what she did. She felt nothing but pity and regret for what she had done to her daughter. She gently held her daughter's face and kissed her forehead as she tucked her closely, whispering "Oh god, I'm sorry baby, I'm really sorry, mommy didn't mean what she did. I love you so much, okay? I'm really sorry" She cried as if it looked like she bumped her head for a sudden change of her actions and switching into a new person.

Another day passed by, nothing's new so Felisse decided to pick Mich from school since she got out early from work. As she reached the school, Felisse noticed a bunch of kids fighting on the hallway, her eyes widened, seeing Mich pushing one of her schoolmates while grabbing the another kid by the hair. She immediately stopped the car and got out to pecify the quarrel between the children who we're fighting, she grabbed her daughter by the arm then slapped her, ignoring people around them and letting them witness the chaos and shouts "You're embarrassing me, our family and even yourself, God damn it Michelle!" Mich took a step back and held her mother's hand to explain but Felisse pulled the girl's hair and dragged her inside the car. Mich cried continuously as she pleaded for her mom to listen "Mommy, s-she bullied me first… I was just waiting for you but then she took my bag and pushed m-" She paused from talking as she noticed her mom remained silent and ignoring what she says. Felisse seemed to believe nothing but what she saw.
