The next day came, and Masayuki was now in the progress of recovery from his back pain. At the same time, Tohru's other cousins found what had happened to Masayuki from Pablo and were judgmental at his heroism, considering that as an act of disruption for his education journey towards a desirable job.
"Hey! Don't say that about his future!" Pablo scolded them in response. "Masayuki decides for himself. You can't dictate his future."
"Why?" his stepson retorted back. "We just wanted to keep our pride up. If not, we would be in shame, especially for having an outsider like you."
"How many times we had talked about this? That pride you two have is not good. Reputation for me doesn't matter a lot."
"Isn't it common sense to keep your pride well?" Tohru's female cousin fired in response. "Gosh, your cultural background made you a stranger in this country."
"Hey! Don't say that to your father like that!" Tohru's aunt responded to this.
"For the last time, mom," her eldest replied back in retorting, "this guy is not our father! Are you really that delusional?"
"Okay, that's it," Pablo responded to this in settling down. "Tomorrow is the weekend, so you two should see Masayuki and Emiko are their friends' place."
The Filipino targeted this to his stepchildren directly.
"What? Why do we have to go and visit him?" his stepson replied back in shock.
"He was in pain," Pablo responded back while crossing his arms, "so you two, as his older stepsiblings, should go and see him for a bit. I am telling you this as your new father."
Due to their stepfather's sternness, Tohru's other cousins had no choice but to give in and do that tomorrow, which is a Saturday.
So, by tomorrow morning, after breakfast, Pablo drove his two stepchildren to Shigure's house. There the three of them pulled over and got off, before climbing the stairs towards the house. Arriving at the house, Pablo rang the doorbell, and Shigure opened it, only to be surprised at his presence with his two stepchildren. "Oh, Mr. Honda! Hello there."
"Yes, good morning, Shigure-san," replied Pablo brightly. "I am here to drop my two stepchildren for a visit to Masayuki. Can you allow them in?"
Shigure then looked at Tohru's other cousins, who were annoyed by his appearance and presence.
After that, Shigure looked back at Pablo and said with a smile, "Yes, yes, you can trust me with them."
Bowing a little bit, Pablo replied back, "Yes, thank you so much."
Then to Tohru's other cousins. "Now, you two, behave well and be nice to them, okay?"
Tohru's other cousins then obliged and went inside.
Pablo then said to Shigure, "I'll be going to work now."
He turned around and left the place, leaving his two stepchildren to Shigure and his friends.
Shortly after Pablo left the scene in his car, Tohru's other cousins entered the living room, much to the shock and surprise of Tohru and her friends. Kyo and Yuki, however, are cold at them, remembering what they did to Tohru in the past. Upon seeing that, Shigure tried to cool down their temper.
"Why those nut-jobs are here?" Kyo demanded an explanation.
Yuki then looked at Tohru's other cousins with strict sternness on his face. "You two are welcome to this house, but you two are not allowed to harass or demoralize Miss Honda or anyone here."
Tohru became nervous and tried to calm her classmates' temper down.
It did, and her male cousin sighed and stated, "We're here to see Masayuki and that's about it."
"Eh? Why?" Tohru asked back.
"It's because our so-called father told us to do so," replied her female cousin. "Gosh, foreigners are indeed different from us Japanese."
"Hey!" Kyo fired back at this. "You should be grateful for your new father's love for you. He was trying to mend your rift with Masayuki and Emiko."
But the two cousins didn't want to hear any of his or his friends' lectures and just asked them where Masayuki was. "Oh, he was in his classmate's room on the right of the hallway upstairs," Shigure responded back nicely. With that, the two cousins went upstairs and went to Handa's room, which luckily had an open door. There Momiji, Hatori, Hiro, Handa, and Kisa, as well as Mayuko, are gathering around Masayuki, who was on bed with a small bed table to study and write. Remembering their manners, both cousins knocked on the open door, catching their attention.
"These guys again?" Handa responded to this, almost defensively.
"Who are you guys?" Hiro asked.
"Those two are my older stepsiblings," answered Masayuki back in mild annoyance.
"What are you two doing here?" Hatori asked them.
As she and her older brother entered the room, Tohru's female cousin sheepishly responded back, "We're here to pay him a visit and that's about it."
Handa then became fully defensive of his friends.
Then, sitting on the floor while crossing their arms, Tohru's other cousins asked Masayuki how he was. "I am fine," Masayuki replied while trying to be nice to them. "My back is not that painful, unlike yesterday. I had already taken some painkillers this morning."
"Okay," his eldest stepbrother replied back, "then you felt good about yourself after getting that just to save someone?"
"Yes, I am," Masayuki replied back firmly.
"Yes, Masayuki-kun did that for me because my friend went on a rampage," Momiji replied back.
"Oh, really?" Tohru's female cousin looked at him. "Why is that?"
But Momiji didn't tell her the true reason why and just told her vaguely.
"Some sort of stupid delinquent to me," Tohru's female cousin commented back.
Kisa then entered the conversation. "That friend of ours might be like that, but he is a good person."
"Hey, don't butt in, little girl!" Tohru's male cousin snapped at her causing Kisa to whimper in fear.
This shocked everyone in the room. Handa was not happy at this and went to them and slapped Tohru's male cousin for saying that to Kisa. "Hey! Don't say that to her like that, you rude bastard!" Hatori, Emiko, and Hiro then comforted Kisa in response. Mayuko and Masayuki were not happy at all about this.
"What is wrong with both of you?"
"Yeah, apologize to them now!"
Hatori then supported their responses with a nod.
"Yeah, Masayuki did that for everyone in his class!" Hiro snapped at the two spoiled and prideful young people. "Apologize to us, including to our friend Kisa, too!"
Tohru's other cousins now felt unwelcome in this home and started to act as if they were the victims here. But Hatori and Mayuko gave them a harsh scolding. Tohru's other cousins then fired back by telling them that they had no common sense or pride in themselves. Because of that, Masayuki had enough of them being rude to his friends and grabbed his glass of water, before splashing them with them. "Bastos!" he shouted at them after doing that.
