Chapter 67 - Chapter 67 – Pablo’s visit

And then, the next day, a car pulled over in front of Shigure's house. Shigure and Emiko went outside to check it out. Emiko then quickly recognized it as Pablo's car.

 "Itay!" she called.

Shigure doesn't understand that word at all.

And then, Pablo and Tohru's aunt came out and saw her waving her hand.

They then started climbing the stairs to meet up with her.

The night before, Masayuki informed them about Tohru being sick.

They were quickly worried about her, so they planned to visit her the next day.

But, Tohru's other cousins didn't want to come because they still didn't like her and didn't want to get lectured by Masayuki's moral laws.

So, on that morning, they had reached the end of the stairs and are now standing in front of Shigure's house.

"Oh, hello, you must be Tohru's relatives, right?" Shigure asked them.

"Yes, we are," Tohru's aunt replied back. "Is Tohru inside?"

 "Yes, she is resting, ma'am."

Emiko came to them and gave respect to them in a Filipino way. "Nay."

"Yes, Emiko, we are here because Tohru is sick," Tohru's aunt responded.

 "Yes, this way, mom."

Emiko then led the way into Shigure's house.

Shigure then come with them.

Inside, Kyo, Yuki, and Handa are at the dining room when the couple entered in. They looked at them.

 "Oh, Mr. Honda."

"Why is that woman doing here? Isn't she one of…?"

Tohru's aunt then looked at them and bowed her head in an act of apology. "I'm sorry for how I treated Tohru. And I am deeply sorry for my children's actions on her as well. I'll do anything so you will forgive me. I was deeply ashamed of myself."

Hear that apology, Kyo and the others accepted it, with Kyo adding, "Make sure you bring your two spoiled children here so they can apologize to her and us as well."

Tohru's aunt then rose from bowing. "Yes, I'll make sure to do that."

Pablo then nodded. "Yes, we guaranteed it."

"Thank you," Kyo replied. "Tohru is upstairs. Masayuki-kun is there as well."

With that, the couple went upstairs with Emiko's guidance. Upon arriving there, Masayuki is with Tohru.

"Mom and dad are here, kuya," Emiko said to Masayuki directly.

Hearing that, Masayuki and Tohru looked at Pablo and Tohru's aunt.

 "Oh, hey, dad, nay."

 "Uncle?"

Masayuki was wearing a dark blue buttoned up shirt with short sleeves, black pants, and dark grey necktie for part-time work in the publishing firm.

The couple entered the room and checked on Tohru. "Are you okay? How are you?"

"I'm fine, uncle, aunt," Tohru happily replied back. "I'm feeling better. Hatori-san gave me a flu shot for my sickness."

 "Hatori-san?" her aunt asked.

Pablo and Handa explained to her about Hatori.

Now she gets it and looked at Tohru with guilt on her face. "I'm sorry for how I treated you back then. We were just concerned about our reputation and social standing. And I am sorry for what my two eldest children did to you. I would never forgive myself for doing it."

She then bowed deeply. "Please forgive me."

Pablo did apologize on her behalf, but not too extensively due to his cultural distinctiveness.

Tohru accepts it saying, "It's okay. I understand."

Masayuki nods to confirm it.

With that the couple raised their heads from bowing. "Thanks."

"Also, make sure big sis and elder brother come here to apologize to Tohru-chan and her friends, too," Masayuki said to them seriously like Kyo.

"Yes, I'll make sure that will happen," Tohru's aunt replied in agreement.

Emiko was happy at her mother's reconciliation with Tohru.

Later, Tohru asked her uncle and aunt how her grandpa and two older cousins was.

"Your grandpa is fine, Tohru," Pablo replied. "Your older cousins are taking care of him so your aunt would come here."

"Oh, okay." Tohru gets it now.

"Your older cousins are having a bit of a hard time in keeping up with their studies," her aunt responded. "They blamed it on Masayuki for being a nuisance and an embarrassment to them."

Masayuki was sensitive on that, so he snapped seriously. "Seriously? They blamed me and not themselves? That's not nice! I'm just trying to teach them true morals."

 "Yeah." Emiko agreed with concern.

"Well, you know, in this society, the eldest sibling would have the pride of the family,'" Tohru's aunt replied as she stands up.

"That was bad pride, inay," Masayuki replied back in objection.

 "I know."

"Don't worry, mga anak," Pablo said to Masayuki and Emiko. "We'll make sure your older half-siblings would apologize to you two and Tohru and her friends."

 "Thanks, tay!"

 "Salamat po."

After a little teatime with Shigure and the others, Pablo and Tohru's aunt left the house and drove off in Pablo's car. In that teatime, they asked Shigure to take good care of Tohru, Masayuki, and Emiko. Shigure agreed in a satirical-like way possible, causing Kyo, Yuki, and Handa to be pissed off at his childlike attitude. At the same time, Tohru was happy that her aunt had reconciled with her.

Back at Tohru's grandpa's house, Tohru's other cousins are annoyed on how they need to take care of their grandfather, blaming both Tohru and Masayuki for their day being ruined. They supposed to go to the mall, but even though it was derailed for an hour and a half, they considered it as an offense to them.
