The truth is bitter, so they say. It's often best to not know the truth because of the burden it carries along with it. But still, the best is not always safe. What we don't know can kill us in the blink of an eye and we wouldn't even see it coming. Sometimes the truth is right in front of us but we intentionally chose to ignore it. We let sentiment affect our better sense of reasoning, that's why we have too many unmarked graves.
I've come to trust no one and expect anything from anyone no matter who they are. We all have demons underneath our skin and the ones we call family can hurt us and they will, eventually. We feel it most when they do because we never see it coming.
