Kaiser's POV
I then took my leave as I just realized that I have taken up a lot of time.
As I'm slowly closing my distance a few meters away from the entrance of the forest, I can already feel the eerie aura it emits. I sat down and closed my eyes to meditate to gather more mana for I'll be going to the battlefield.
After 10 minutes of meditating, I continued walking and paused as I am now standing in front of the entrance of the chilling forest when I suddenly remembered what that old man did to me 2 years ago when he went home last time and I didn't catch a Dorea beast. That cranky old man was craving for that beast's meat and since I wasn't able to bring one home, he literally tied me to the very top of the tallest tree found at the summit of the mountain we live in. That crosspatch old geezer!
Dorea's meat was his favorite after all. That pesky beast was so hard to catch since they have fast reflexes and if they feel an unfamiliar presence, they would be quickly alarmed and be on guard. Those beasts are very strong. They're one of the hefty predators in this forest after all. For him to kill Doreas so easily irritates me. Dang! I am so gonna kill a Dorea today!
So yeah! Today's feast shall be a Dorea Beast, so I'd go for combat training today. Just wanna test my strength. As excitement filled me, I pulled my short sword and entered the spine-chilling forest.
Ever since my grandfather brought me here when I was just 3, I don't know why but I have never felt the slightest bit of terror about this place. Instead, I felt even thrilled and curious about why these trees are all black and don't have any leaves, the soft shining silver grasses, the human sized birds, the beasts that reside in this place. Though gramps told me that this forest was originally a part of the Laveri three hundred years ago. This forest has the size of a town, in fact. Seems that most of the town of Laveri was obliterated and was turned into this scary forest. Now it has become a village since it has gone smaller. Gramps told me that Laveri was once a large town and that it was once a beautiful spot for different races to visit or stay for vacation. But because of the war that took place 300 years ago, this is just one of the outcomes of that catastrophe. He even repeatedly reminded me not to go near Centrifugon. He told me that the monsters from there were far from the monsters I've been killing from here. No matter how much I want to check it out myself, I couldn't and I don't want to. Defying that old man means death. Ugh! Whatever.
But I have always been thinking about it...
"I wonder what will happen to me when I leave Laveri." I shrugged my little shoulders as I mumbled and continued my hunting journey.
After an hour of walking, my senses were alerted as I felt a familiar weak presence from behind.
I quickly turned my gaze to the silver bush from behind since I felt it came from that way. I quickly leaped and grabbed the little monster by the neck.
I stared at the resisting long necked beast… a Miran. It's a small beast with a long neck and rounded belly. Miran beasts are the most annoying and stubborn beasts among all the creatures living here. They are weak, honestly. But when hit by their spikes, you'll be paralyzed for 10 minutes. Even if it's only paralyzation, that already means death in this place.
It's a good thing, my body is tolerant to any poison, thanks to the old man making me take poisons, I am already immune to it. Ugh. I just rolled my eyes heavenwards and turned my gaze to the poor beast.
"Wow! I really can't believe how stubborn you guys are, no? How many times must you guys be killed by yours truly?" I shaked my head in amazement as I looked at the struggling beast in my hand. I wanted to play with it a bit more but I have no time. Killing a dorea is my priority today. So I swung my sword to the red eyed beast and tossed it.
'Ugh blood!'
I used a water spell where a water ball was forming in my palm. I inserted my left hand to wash off the blood and did the same to the other one. Oh well! That's definitely how you use your powers in a smart way HAHAHA... and so I continued walking my way to my destination.
THIRD PERSON'S POV
After another hour, the child smirked when he saw the figure of a huge white furry beast with its six pitch black eyes, six arms with its long sharp nails and its long fangs full of blood as if it had just eaten his prey. Kaiser, on the other hand, instead of concealing his presence, he even unleashed his deadly aura. The beast was quickly alarmed as it suddenly turned around and landed its enraging black eyes on the child.
Kaiser drew out his short sword and spinned it, inserting his index finger in the hole at the tip of his sword. The child just stood there looking down at the agitated Dorea beast and playfully said…
"Oh! You're approaching me?" his lips perked up slightly when the beast suddenly roared and slowly made its way to the unfazed child.
The beast attacked him with its sharp nails but the child swiftly avoided it as he stealthily jumped at the trunk of the tree. Kaiser embedded his fire affinity to his sword and burst his way to the raging beast.
ULTRA BURST!
The child charged to the beast but because of its fast reflexes, Kaiser only managed to cut two of his arms. "Dang!" the child roared as it wasn't enough to kill the beast.
"If this is not enough to kill you, then… Come!" said the child as he threw his weapon in the air and altered his stance to his favorite fighting style, hand-to-hand combat.
While the beast was still wailing as his cut arms were spurting with blood. "Let's try with 40%" he whispered as he readied his fist and then embedded mana to his legs and approached the beast at a great speed and threw a punch to the creature. The Dorea got banged to the trees as it flew when the child's fist landed on its big round stomach. The beast quickly stood up and blasted its way to the child but the young boy even raised his agility more and jumped sideways to the trees which made ten afterimages of the child. The beast went berserk and just threw its claws to any direction.
Kaiser stopped and motioned his fist backwards and said, "60%."
The beast was frozen when a menacing feeling sent chills down its spine. The beast was startled when Kaiser disappeared. Completely concealing his presence, the beast wasn't able to sense where the child went.
Kaiser's POV
Seems like I still have a long way to go. Seeing how that damned beast wasn't even killed at my 40%. Dang it! Let's go with 60! I suctioned up all of my mana back to my core to erase my presence. After doing so, I stared at the beast as it was roaring in panic when it didn't sense my existence. "Oh! Look at how pathetic you are", I said in jest in my mind.
I calmly walked to where the crazy beast was standing. No more time left to waste! When I arrived in front of him, I removed the concealment of my presence and coldly stared at the surprised beast. I didn't give him the chance to react so I swiftly jumped and pounded him with my raw strength at his jaw which made his head separated and landed like a flattened ball on the lifeless ground.
".."
"Ha! It's my victory!" I yelled as I picked up the defunct head from the ground and lifted it in the air. But blood was disgustingly dropping to my arms so I put the head down. Well well. Time to go home now. Surely, old man's gonna be so surprised with this. *smirk*
THIRD PERSON'S POV
As the blue sky turns into orange with the sun slowly making its way down the horizon, the Laverians were all preparing for a huge bonfire at the center part of the village. Some people were preparing the drinks and blankets for it is a tradition in the Laveri where every third day of the month, they will have a night festival where all of the hunted beasts were to be shared with everyone.
While Fabian and the other hunters are making their way to the little platform to put down the beasts they have hunted, the people from the village clapped and cheered for them as they came back safe and sound, pulling three large wagons carrying 14 Gonderas and three dead Havaias, the strongest beast in the first level of the forest. But everyone halted when they noticed a familiar old man, with its silver spiky hair, with his hands at his back, and usual stern look walking quietly behind Fabian's group.
"That sure is quite the hunt, no?" the old man spoke.
".."
"G-grand Augy?" the 7 year old girl with auburn hair, pointy ears, and chocolate brown eyes yelled in surprise which caught the attention of the villagers. Fabian and the others were the ones who were even more surprised because they didn't even sense the old man's presence.
"I'm home." the old man said, which made the villagers rejoiced even more.
"Welcome home, Grand Augy!" the young girl said as it ran towards the old man. He just patted the child's hair which made the little one smile brightly.
"Thank you, Hesty. By the way, where's that brat?"
"Oh! Kaiser, that child, went on hunting at the Malum Woods. By the way, welcome home, Grand Augy." Rina said as she bowed to the old man.
"I see. The monsters there probably devoured him. HAHAHA!" Grand Augy said which made everyone laugh.
"You are always so rough on your grandson, no? Take care of him properly, you old rooster." said the elderly elf, Rith, as she spanked the old man lightly in the shoulders. "I am taking care of him, old hag! O-ouch!" exclaimed Augy as the old woman pinched his ear.
"Come. Let's just go and celebrate with everyone while we wait for your grandson to arrive."
"Nah, he's already here." the old man said which made the elder elf put up a confused look as the child is nowhere to be seen. The old man just shrugged his shoulders then suddenly ran as if a lightning flashed in front of everyone's sight. The old man who's standing near the bonfire, zoomed his way to the outskirts of the park and threw an 'I'm home.' jab to the new arrived 7 year old kid who also replied with a 'Welcome home' punch to the old man.
"Old geezer/Brat"
**
"OH MY WORD!"
Everyone was surprised when the half ogre/elf suddenly yelled with his light brown eyes wide open while looking in the direction where the old man and the human child were, followed by the villagers gazes. Unlike the usual reaction where the villagers always feel uneasy when the two reunite because they always have a chaotic duel from the very moment Grand Augy comes home.
But tonight... is different. Everyone was petrified when they saw what the child had brought...
"K-kaiser… that b-beast..."
