Chereads / My Sect System / Chapter 7 - Journey to the Village

Chapter 7 - Journey to the Village

Jian and Yu Yue were walking through the dense forest. It had been half an hour since they left the cave. Over the past thirty minutes, Jian had asked her name repeatedly, every five minutes, and compared it with the mysterious information that appeared in his mind.

Yu Yue was visibly annoyed. His constant questioning was testing her patience. She thought he might have a screw loose and almost told him off, but the robes he wore hinted at his higher status, so she restrained herself.

After walking for a few more minutes, Jian started to speak again. "Hey..."

Before he could finish, Yu Yue snapped. "Senior! How many times do I have to tell you? My name is Yu Yue—Yue, as in 'Moon'!"

Her anger, bottled up until now, exploded. Jian squinted at her outburst and replied calmly, "I know your name. I was just about to ask how much longer it will take to reach your village."

Yu Yue broke into a cold sweat, realizing her mistake. She quickly apologized, "Sorry, Senior. Sorry. It will take about two hours to get to the village."

Jian thought for a moment and then asked the system, "Can you show me my status?"

"Yes, Host. If you keep walking, I can send the information directly to your mind."

"You can do that? I thought I'd have to wait."

"Yes, Host. I can do that."

As they continued walking, the system transmitted the status directly into Jian's mind.

{Status}

Name: Feng Jianyu

Cultivation: Foundation Building (Fifth Level)

Cultivation Technique: Chaotic Star Scripture (Not Learned)

Bloodline: ???

Physique: Chaos Refining Physique

Martial Arts: Devour

Abilities: Star Gaze

Sect Points: 3900

As they walked, Yu Yue noticed Jian lost in thought, a faint smile on his lips. Shaking her head, she led the way, oblivious to his inner delight at receiving his reward. He couldn't wait to delve into the details.

Reading through his status, Jian was pleased to see his cultivation level had advanced to Foundation Building. As he examined it further, he squinted at certain entries and was about to question the system when it interjected.

"Host, no need to worry. I will explain everything."

Jian chuckled. "Hehe, you know me best."

The system began providing details about his rewards.

"This status is unique to you. For now, the shop and sect options are unavailable."

Sect Points: "These were earned by upgrading the sect token. You can use them to purchase items in the shop."

Abilities: "Derived from your physique. As the physique evolves, more abilities will unlock. 'Star Gaze' allows you to see through the world's disguises. Like a shining star, it reveals all hidden truths. By focusing on someone, you can view their details, provided their cultivation level isn't more than two major realms higher than yours."

Jian relaxed upon hearing this explanation. He now understood how he had known Yu Yue's name before she introduced herself. Intrigued, he was about to test Star Gaze on her when the system continued.

"Martial Arts: Techniques used in combat, categorized by weapon type, style, and more. 'Devour' is tied to your bloodline.

Devour Level: 1 (Not Activated)

Physiques: "Heaven's gifts to individuals. They are graded as Mortal, Earth, and Heaven."

Mortal Max Levels: 3 (1 in 10,000 chance)

Earth Max Levels: 6 (1 in a million chance)

Heaven Max Levels: 9 (1 in 100 million chance)

"Your physique, the Chaos Refining Physique, is Earth-grade and upgradable."

Bloodline: "Represents the legacy left by a powerful cultivator. Refining it unlocks the legacy's secrets. Most bloodlines are found in beasts and elite humans. Currently, your bloodline refinement is at 0%, so its name and abilities remain hidden due to insufficient authority."

Cultivation Technique: "Used to absorb Heaven and Earth's spiritual energy. Techniques are graded as Mortal (1–3 stars), Earth (4–6 stars), and Heaven (7–9 stars). The Chaotic Star Scripture's grade cannot be defined yet because only the first part has been revealed. Master it to unlock the rest."**

"If you have more questions, Host, feel free to ask."

By now, Jian and Yu Yue had been walking for over an hour. The information dump had been overwhelming, and Jian needed to process it all. He broke the silence, asking Yu Yue, "How much longer?"

"Thirty to forty minutes," she replied. "If we run, ten minutes."

Jian noticed the setting sun and decided. "We'll rest for half an hour, then run to the village."

Yu Yue hesitated. "Senior, are you tired?"

"No," Jian replied. "But the sun is setting, and we should wait until it's darker."

Though reluctant, she nodded and sat with him under a tree. Meanwhile, Jian closed his eyes and resumed his questions.

"System, I understand most of it. But what's the significance of '1 in 10,000'? Why is my physique upgradable? And why isn't my cultivation technique graded?"

"Host, only one person in 10,000 is gifted a Mortal-grade physique, and the same rarity applies to higher grades. Your Chaotic Star Scripture's grade is undefined because only its first part is accessible for now. Master it to unlock the rest. As for your physique, you lack the authority to know more until your cultivation improves."

Satisfied, Jian compared the information and took time to digest it. After a while, Yu Yue interrupted him. "Senior, can we go now?"

Opening his eyes, Jian saw her anxious expression. "Let's move," he said.

Yu Yue brightened and started leading the way. As they rushed toward the village, Jian asked the system, "Can I learn the cultivation technique now?"

"Yes, Host."

"Will it be uncomfortable?"

"No, Host. It's like receiving information."

"Okay."

[Ding!][Detected Host possesses a cultivation technique]

Chaotic Star Scripture

[Do you wish to learn it?]

[Yes] [No]

A blue screen appeared before him as they rushed forward. Jian confirmed his choice mentally.

[Ding!]

[Confirmed]

[Processing...]

The screen vanished as information flooded Jian's mind. After some time, it stopped. Jian knew the process was complete. Just as he was about to delve into the technique's details, Yu Yue screamed.

"Noooo!"
