I don't mind the slow, almost hesitant pace that Mei takes. After all, she has nearly three hours before class begins. From what I've gathered, White Book Academy's classes start around eight, I think. Mei doesn't seem like the type to skip classes—not unless it's mine, of course, which ironically, I don't even teach.

I still have no idea where we're going, but I imagine it's the kind of place that widows or people who are about to die in a month would find solace. The number of tall buildings and city sounds are fading as we walk further away. Less traffic, fewer people—it's the kind of area where if you were inclined to commit a crime, no one would be around to witness it.

Her small, hesitant steps finally come to a stop.
