Blood sprayed from their mouths as their bodies were sent flying, tumbling through the air like leaves in a storm. It was only through sheer force of will and years of hard-won experience that they managed to right themselves, their feet tearing through the sandy earth as they fought to remain upright rather than being brutally smashed into the ground.
As they finally halted their uncontrolled momentum, one of the disciples, a young man with determination etched into every line of his face, viciously cursed.
His arms shook violently from the impact, muscles spasming as they struggled to cope with the backlash of their failed attack.
"Damn it all to the void!" he spat, blood flecking his lips. "Why is this beast so ungodly powerful?!"
