Chapter 1 - Rod Silver's past life part 1

"Stop, please!" yelled a skinny young man as he saw his entire village massacred in a matter of minutes.

The captain of this pirate crew was someone you know very well. "I am Pirate King Luffy, I like this town, so it is mine," smiled Luffy with that signature smirk.

"Rod! Run!" yelled Rod's mom as she threw a knife at Luffy. The knife was aimed for his heart, but the knife just bounced off his skin, and right back to her.

"MOM!"

Seeing his mom die, trying to protect him, awakened something in him, but before he could unleash his Conqueror's Haki, Luffy stomped his head in...

"AH!" yelled Rod as he woke up on his boat. "Where...wasn't I...?"

Looking around, he realized he was in the middle of nowhere. A newspaper landed on his head, it read: "Pirate King Luffy has claimed every country as his own and is running it with an iron fist!"

Clenching his fist, Rod remembered his face, the face of the man who took everything from him. Feeling unbridled rage enter his veins, he let out a screech, releasing his emotions in waves of Conqueror's Haki.

The sky turned black as if to say that he could let out his emotions. "Luffy...You are a dead man!"

Looking down, he saw some fish on the surface, gulping his saliva, he picked them up and ate them raw. Being too hungry can make you ignore anything sometimes.

Eating enough fish to satiate his hunger, he saw a paddle and began rowing North. Row after row, he felt his muscles fatigue, but his anger kept him going.

2 days later, rowing and fishing. Rod felt his strength grow stronger with his will, the more he focused on the anger, the more his will grew. The sun went down, and Rod finally saw a small island.

Using the last of his strength, he reached the port of the island. "It seems, this island is uninhabited."

Stretching on the sand, feeling the ground, and the smell of the air made him remember when his mom took him out on walks in the forest. Clenching his fist, he pulled out the newspaper with Luffy's face on it and instantly unleashed an unconscious Haki Blast.

Most of the animals near the area ran away except one...

Rod instantly noticed something in the forest, rushing out at lightning speed, he couldn't even move. "Well, well, young one, it seems, you are quite capable, haha."

Gulping, Rod knew that this man could kill him in a second, but then, he remembered, he couldn't die until he killed Luffy, so he turned around slowly. The first thing Rod saw was the silver hair that was flowing.

"Who are you?"

Fully looking at the man, Rod saw that he was very old, but his silver hair and muscles reminded him of someone he once saw in the newspaper. "Me? Oh, I am just an old guy."

Gulping one last time, Rod nodded, "I...understand."

The old man sat down on a rock and looked at Rod curiously like a tiger watching a mouse. Looking straight into his eyes, Rod didn't waver, because now, he has nothing to lose. "You are bold, and your Haki is...immaculate, such rage and anger."

Gritting his teeth, Rod cleared his throat, "Where is this place?"

"Somewhere in East Blue."

Rod was shocked, he was born in South Blue and grew up in South Blue, "How...did I end up here?"

Looking at his clothes closely, the old man nodded, "You have some South Blue clothes, so, how did you get here?"

"I...I just woke up after..."

"After what?"

Subconsciously releasing Conqueror's Haki, "After Luffy killed...my mom."

"I see..."

Rod then added, "I am gonna kill him, and make him pay, for my mom, and my village."

"Well, my name is Rayleigh, what is yours?"

Rod gulped and nodded, "I am Rod Silver."

Rayleigh's eyes widened a little but went back to normal. "What is your mom's name?"

"Kira."

Rayleigh sighed and looked up, "It seems, fate has connected us once again, nephew."

"What?"

Before Rod knew it, he was grabbed into a hug. "I am sorry," said Rayleigh as he sobbed.

"I..."

"Nephew, I am your uncle."

Backing up, Rod looked at Rayleigh and was shocked, "How?"

"My brother, your father was a CP0 agent and he died in action, but he never told me he had...a son, I only knew his wife."

Rod felt tears prickling his face, "I...thought I lost everyone, my deadbeat dad, my mom, my friends, my family, but now, I...have you?"

Rayleigh hugged Rod again and rubbed his head, "I am so sorry."

"I...Uncle, I want to be stronger, I want to kill my enemies and make them pay."

Looking at Rod's face, he saw the determination and rage in his eyes that even gave him chills. "You are willing to do anything?"

"Yes..."

"Even die?"

"I...Yes, if it means I can kill Luffy, I will even die."

"Then, I will train you, so you can kill Luffy, but it will be harsh, very harsh."

"I don't care, all I want is to avenge everyone I loved."

Rayleigh smiled a little bit excited as he knocked out Rod with a chop to the back of his neck. The next day, Rod was dangling from a tree on top of a mountain. "WHERE AM I!?"

Rayleigh was on the next tree eating an apple, "Rod, this is part of your training, expect the unexpected."

"FUCK YOU!" screamed Rod making his yells echo throughout the island.

Rayleigh smirked and began to throw haki-infused pebbles at his vital organs. "Liver, Kidney, Stomach, Solar Plexus, Eyes, most spots are lethal if you can hit them."

Rod covered his eyes but the force of the haki pebbles made him swing back and forth even if he blocked it. Getting annoyed and angry, he tried to focus on the wind that the pebbles made when they got close to him.

Deflecting some of them, he still got hit 98% of the time but he was getting used to the pain until suddenly, the branch he was tied to broke.

Opening his eyes, he felt the breeze and looked down, he was falling, very fucking fast. "NO!" Rayleigh finished his apple and threw his sword directly pinning Rod's shirt on a tree slowing the descent.

Spinning a little, Rod slowed down and looked at Rayleigh with anger and a bit of awe. "I won't let you die, just yet, nephew."

Rod groaned and flipped off Rayleigh who took out his sword and Rod fell on a sharp stick on the ground that almost stabbed his lungs, but luckily, Rod rolled which made it only scratch his ribs.

"YOU!"

Rayleigh shrugged and sheathed his sword, "Expect the unexpected, Rod."

Feeling a breeze behind him, Rod's hair stood up as he ducked to the side, missing a flying monkey with a sword that had haki?! Staring at the monkey swinging a black blade, Rod groaned, "How did...a monkey get a black blade?!'"

"I made it for him," smiled Rayleigh.

"Of course you did, Uncle."

The flying monkey jumped up and flew towards Rod who looked around and saw a stick, picking it up, he timed when the monkey was gonna descend and threw it but missed by 20 feet. "DAMMIT!"

*Zoom* Rod felt his cheek bleeding, touching it, he realized the monkey was so fast, that he couldn't react. Rod calmed down and began to focus on the wind, the sound, the breathing of the monkey, and the sound of his existence.

Seeing an outline of the monkey, he slowly dodged the attack with a hair's breadth. Instinctively, he threw a punch but the monkey flew too fast. Beginning to focus more, and the more he could read, the muscles in the monkey, where he was aiming, and where to move.

"You are talented, to unlock observation Haki fighting is crazy, haha, that is definitely my nephew!"

Getting angry, Rod couldn't even hit the monkey once, and he could even hear the monkey laughing at him each time he missed. Clenching his fist, he channeled his anger into his fist making it blackish red.

The more he got angry, the more red it got until, he threw it towards the sword as it began to encase in flames. "Fist of Fury!"

The sword didn't break but the monkey's grip loosened from the impact and he got hit by the flaming fist that he screamed and vomited his lunch. Flying into a tree, the monkey's breath began to slow down.

Opening his eyes, Rod looked at his fist and bowed at the monkey's dead body. "You were a strong adversary, thank you."

Rayleigh smiled, "You are most definitely my nephew, you unlocked observation and armament haki on the same day, haha!"

"You... never mind, thank you," said Rod coating then uncoating his haki on his arms. Rayleigh took Rod to his cave which was pretty clean. "Is this...where you lived?"

"It is nothing, but it is better than a boat."

"Touche."

"I am gonna hunt for something big, because...you are gonna need it."

"I do? I don't eat that much."

Suddenly, Rod's stomach growled so loud, the island shook. "Uh Oh."
