Chapter 6 - CH. 6: Outside

The demon smirked as he swiftly cut Mirelia's head off. Oliver cried in horror, tears instantly falling from his face as he watched the demon continue to slice through his beloved's body. It chopped off her long pink hair, cutting off limbs and tossing it at Oliver in amusement. Each cut splattered her blood onto his clothes and hair.

"S-stop" Oliver voice shook, "Please stop."

Enjoying Oliver's pain, the demon continued to poke and cut the corpse until it was almost unrecognizable.

"Stop..." he continued, his blond hair covered the tears streaming from his eyes.

Cut, another splatter of blood made it's way onto Oliver's cheek.

"I said Stop!" Oliver kicked the demon in its abdomen. Surprisingly, the monster was knocked back into a wall. The blond approached the demon once more, pounding his fists into the creature's chest. It laid limp as Oliver continued to beat it relentlessly.

Raia stared in disbelief. It was impossible. Had the two most powerful people in the entire academy succumb? Had Mirelia, the school's pride and joy, been killed so easily?

He peered down at Mirelia's corpse, repulsing as her dead stare forced him to recall their years of memories together. Oliver and Mirelia were inseparable. From eating lunch together everyday, to classes, Raia couldn't believe it.

"Go Raia!" Oliver cried between punches, "Go with Meda now!"

Each punch exerted 100% of Oliver's strength. He fought for Mirelia and the rest of his classmates that had been relentlessly tortured. He fought for Raia to have time to escape and live the life he wish he had with Mirelia. Oliver knew he wouldn't win but he wouldn't go down without a fight.

"AH!" Oliver screamed, ready to deliver another blow when the demon grabbed his fist. It twisted his arm completely and broke the bone with ease.

"RUN RAIA!" he used his last yell to encourage his bestfriend.

"I'm sorry Oliver"

Without hesitantation, Raia grabbed Andromeda's hand and sprinted as fast as he could to the exit of the building. He dragged the girl in desperation to reach the light extending from the door. A light that seems to mock him as he ran towards it.

Raia's heart ached as he began to hear Oliver scream in pain. Demons were from the Demonic Realm and posessed powers that no human could oppose. It wasn't a surprise that Oliver was quickly beaten by one.

"We are almost there," Raia panted, "Almost there Meda."

Andromeda nodded determinely, wiping the tears that she had cried ever since Mirelia was murdered. Blood covered her entire body and stained her silver hair a light red.

Her bestfriend Mirelia was dead, Oliver was going to die too. What about Raia? What if Raia died?

"Don't look back okay? Just look at that light coming from outside."

"Okay Raia," Meda coughed, running for such an extensive amount of time was beginning to tire her body.

A blur flew past the two as the ran towards the door - landing directly in front of them. Upon coming closer, Raia stopped dead in his tracks. Oliver's corpse laid limp. His bones were crushed, so disfigured that he was almost unrecognizable. Chills flew down his spine. They were doomed. They would all die.

Looking back at the group, Raia finally collasped seeing the all fifteen students dead. They were the last remaining survivors in the whole building. It had been thirty seconds since Oliver gave them time to run.

"Meda, I need you to run ahead of me," Raia whispered as the demon finished its last victim and began walking towards him, "I'll follow you after so go ahead."

"Raia I can't! I can't go without you!" Meda tugged at Raia. With each second, their chances of survival were decreasing greatly.

"Meda," Raia yelled, "Go."

"Raia..."

"Please Meda."

"But-"

"Please."

Upon looking at Raia's desperation, Meda bit her lip and forced her shaky legs to sprint towards the exit. Raia sighed in relief and averted his attention back to the demon who continued to smile at him.

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Raia mocked with a shaky voice. He pretended to be confident but fear consumed him from the inside, "Let's see if you could kill me. You fucking demon!"

Raia ran towards the monster with his fist ready to land a blow. He had to get Andromeda time, even if it meant sacrificing himself. Closing the gap between the two, Raia lifted up his fist to deliver a immobilizing punch.

Until suddenly, a foot made contact with Raia and sent him face first into the ground. The demon pressed against Raia's back before forcing its long sword into his body. Raia cursed, keeping his yelling to a minimum to not worry Meda.

He desperately squirmed and looked for any way to escape. The pain was unbearable. He felt himself numbing from the waist down.

Tugging Raia's hair up, the demon forced Raia to look towards Meda as she ran towards the exit. His sword continued to press in and out of the wound. Raia gnawed as his tongue to keep quiet.

As she finally crossed the exit path, Raia's heart fell into his stomach. The demon from the third floor suddenly emerged to grab her. His toothless mouth formed into a smile as he reached for Meda's arm - tearing it off as if it was a piece of steak. Meda let out a deafening scream of agony.

"NO!" Raia jerked underneath the demon, feeling the tip of the sword pierce into his lungs and further into his chest, "STOP IT!"

"Raia-" Meda weeped, using her remaining arm to reach out for him.

With a pop, the demon ripped it off easily. Basking in the light of outside, Raia could see everything in astute detail. Sounds and scenes that would never leave his mind ever again.

"Not her, not her" he banged his fist against the cement floors, "Take me instead, please!"

"Raia!" Meda's screams of terror and pain rang throughout the entire building. The demon had finally ripped off her legs.

"Please..." Raia begged, "Make it stop..."

Her face became dull and Raia could see that she was numbed from the pain. With just a torso left, the demon licked his lips to take a bite and finish his long prepared meal.

Raia's eyes perked as he saw Meda's lips move slightly, words that stabbed him more than the demon's sword did.

"I love you Raia," she smiled weakly.

Raia was officially the last survivor of the building. With the demon's sword in his back, he begged the monster to have mercy. Still, through tearful eyes Raia was forced to continue watching Andromeda get eaten alive.
