As soon as the tip of the needle made contact with the eye, Gunnir screamed out in pain. The even greater rush of adrenaline than he had before heightens his survival instincts as he somehow manages to grab the arm of the unmasked assassin. Stopping him from stabbing the needle any deeper. With his larger stature and free arm, he grabs the assailant by the neck and smashes him against the ground. Sitting on top of him, he starts to pound the unmasked assassin's head. His hand is a similar size to his enemy's head. With each pound, the sound of wood splintering and bones cracking follows. Gunnir continues to smash his opponent's face leaving nothing more than a bloodied mess similar to that of a strawberry pudding with pieces of meat dropped on the shattered wooden kitchen floor.
The masked assassin begins to cast magic again, another spike soon to follow. He casts, the erratic mana reaching another peak yet nothing happens. The mana simmering down again before as it has continued to do during this battle. He looks at the other mage, the ebony-skinned wizard whose arm and hand is pointed toward him. The calm aura that she has cast not engulfing the room any longer but is now solely engulfing the body of the masked assassin.
"You've shown your hand. Not even at your strongest wave would your mana come close to mine." Tika explains, the gentle and calm words solely broken by the agonizing scream of Gunnir dealing with the poison and loss of sight in an eye. "Gunnir, go ask for medical assistance. I got the rest covered. Just go."
Gunnir turns to Tika and throws off the helmet, his left hand covering the eye of which he has already pulled out the needle. His mouth firmly bites upon his teeth you can hear the stone-hard teeth gnashing against each other. Keeping his wound covered, he runs upstairs. The sound of the large man stumbling around wakes up a large portion of the tavern goers.
Tika returns her focus to the masked assassin. Her calm aura kept him a prisoner, no more than an ordinary man now that his sole quality is taken away. "Will you converse masked assassin? Is there room to parley between us and your guild? Or should I simply crush you and be done with it?" The aura unlike the hostile words continues to calmly float around the masked assassin's face.
"There is no point. Not with the likes of me anyway. The....Urrgh." The reply of the masked assassin starts comes to an end as he starts to gag violently. Coughing out slime, saliva, and even blood as the violent mixture of gagging and coughing worsens. Tika continues to hold her calm aura over the masked assassin, the man falling to the ground as he reaches into his mouth. In a desperate struggle, trying to pull something out of it. After a short struggle, the hands stop moving. The still body is now nothing more but a corpse.
Tika keeps her aura around the dead masked assassin, coming closer as she takes off the mask. The assassin is revealed to be a man covered in burn marks and stitching. A rather grotesque sight, the face with the saliva and blood. Tika traces one of the stitching and takes out a small dagger. She cuts one of the stitching on the right cheek and looks inside the small pocket of flesh. Small little gems that have long lost their shine can be found in the cheek. Tika grabs the slim pieces of gems remaining and puts them in her satchel before she looks in the throat.
An unnaturally long red poppy is in the man's throat. She grabs the flower and wipes it with her finger, revealing the original color to be white, not red. She puts it in her satchel and runs upstairs following the sound of Gunnir's painful grunts.
In not even 7 seconds she arrives in the room they were staying in. The grand duke and the elder tavern-keeping couple all surround the large man.
"Keep still will ya?." Betzy says as she tries to clean around the eye, The bald ginger bearded man is still in clear pain.
"There you are. Go to the fifth house on the fourth street on your right. You will find Aren there, he's quite experienced when it comes to medicine. Tell him, I'll scrap half of his tab if he comes right now." Tika turns around and rushes to the house, not wasting any time.
Soon Aren and Tika arrived in the room. Aren inspects the patient with a grim face as he hurriedly tries to disinfect any possible wounds and poison.
"I can't identify the poison and the eye is lost. The best chance we have is to completely abandon the eye and hope that the poison wasn't a lethal dose." Aren says, looking at Tika and the grand duke specifically.
"Do it." Tika responds as she casts her magic aura on Gunnir whilst she mumbles a spell. "Sleep Gunnir, let the dream take you on a beautiful little trip."
Gunnir falls asleep, completely falling limp as only shallow breathing remains. The calm aura continued to float around his body. With the now magically put asleep patient, Aren continued the operation. Removing the eye from the socket whilst making sure that no infections will take place. The operation didn't take long, this clearly wasn't the first rodeo of the man. Who responds to the still gazes upon him.
"Losing body parts is a near given during war… Especially for those of lower birth. I originally studied to be a maester but stopped after my Historia Warsdum was rejected. The commander ordered me to stay back and take care of the wounded during the battles considering my expertise. You will be surprised to discover how quickly your body starts to fall apart when wounded and covered in bacteria and sickness." He says as the procedure reaches its end. "As I said, I cannot identify the poison. If it has already made its way inside the body with a lethal dose then I fear the worst… The rest remains for Asariel to decide." Aren says as he cleans up his stuff, before leaving with Baxter. The two passionately discuss the tab and how much should be taken off it exactly.
