Chapter 180 - A drunken truth

"What consequences? Explain to me, before I beat to a pulp!" Gunnir shakes the still floating Lhedo violently, his grip even tighter than before.

"When you left, everything turned to shit! Everything!" Spit flies out together with Lhedo's word as his feet swing in the air. "There was no more money, then Kaiay was suddenly all about penance. Constantly whining about how she felt dirty and needed to be cleansed." Lhedo's hands act like they're two mouths, accompanying his word with a theatrical performance. "So suddenly we were poor, and our leader turned mad! You might not realize, but the other didn't like that and quickly the band fucked off. Leaving me behind with Kaiay in Searock town! What was I supposed to do!"

"This still doesn't explain how you ended up like this! Did you kill the son on purpose or not?" Gunnir brings Lhedo to his eye level, the large man sending a piercing gaze into his old comrade's eyes. Lhedo spits on his forehead as he's brought in close proximity. His breath reeking of alcohol.

"Yeah, I killed him. And you know what else? He wasn't the only one Gunnir." Lhedo says with a smile on his, having to stop himself from laughing out loud.

"Lhedo... Why? Why would you this?" Gunnir averts his gaze from his friend, taking deep breaths as he processes the situation.

"Do you know who else I killed? One was a suddenly religious woman in Searock town and the other was wounded in the catacombs yesterday." Lhedo brings his face closer to Gunnir, his teeth on full display.

The words uttered by Lhedo invoke quite the reactions from the party. Even Tika who's still trying to stop Hellas is also griping him tightly. Her teeth gnashing against each other as they both are holding each other back.

*CRACK * A loud cracking sound overwhelms all other noise in the tavern. The large man holding his drunk companion has hit him square across the face. The comparatively smaller body flies into the wall head first creating an even larger dent than on the table. This time also accompanied by red spores of blood.

"Gunnir!" Cristal runs toward him, seeing the large man raise his hand again. She's not the only one as Tika and Hellas and some mercenaries also rush toward him seeing the situation unfold. Quickly at least 6 bodies are thrown on the half giant made out of almost pure muscle.

"I've failed again! Because of you! Agaaain!" Tears fill the ginger bearded large man's eyes as he screams toward his unconscious drunken acquaintance.

"Get them all detained for the moment. Hurry up!" The voice of Aryien commands, all the mercenaries swiftly following her orders. About 10 mercenaries are needed before they can properly push Gunnir on the ground. The others of the party seeing the situation quickly surendered. Aryien arresting cristal as she pushes her on the ground and forcefully grabs her arms and holds them on her back.

"I swear th-." Aryien tries to speak until her arms get forcefully pulled downward as Aryien's knee keeps her back in place. Her arms nearly snapping. "Shut up, it's what I get for guaranteeing someone." Aryien says keeping her grip tight. "Everyone! Bring them to jail!"Aryien commands the mercenaries as the party is guided to another place to stay for the time.

In the dark jail cells, you can hear the sound of the waves crashing above. As droplets of water create annoying puddles in the jail. Depending on the time you've spent here either a blessing or an annoyance. The party are all separated in different cells. Tika and Cristal are specifically chained With Midium, their ways of magic and divine power the highest threat.

Most of the day has already passed by evening sure to approach soon. Gunnir and Hellas sit in jails adjacent to each other. Both having kept quiet most of the time.

"I'm sorry." The large ginger bearded man says amidst the silence. "I shouldn't have done that."

"It's just I got so angry. Kaiay and Sol suddenly gone. Again." Gunnir holds his head in his hands as he looks at the wet floor.

"I would've done the same thing in your place. If Tika wasn't there I would have killed him when he talked about Fia." Hellas responds looking at his surroundings.

"Yeah... Are you still? You know..."

"Now is not the time. We have to figure out how to get out." Hellas responds playing with the necklace of a prickled rose on his neck. He looks around at the wet floor and the rock formation around the jail. "It appears to be a cave. one probably under the sea." The ranger says as he looks up to the ceiling.

"That's completely right. Well done." A calm voice accompanied by the sound of his own footsteps replies. The long silver hair easily giving away his identity. Sylvester Silstani, head of the Silstani family now stands before the jail cells of the two party members. The bags under his eyes only gotten heavier.

"If I understand the situation correctly, you were discussing something with a mercenary of Enver. This man was drunk whilst you all were believed to be sober yet still he was the one assaulted?" The leader of the Silstani family continues to stand in front of the jail cells carrying a lantern.

"It's not that simply sire. The man has admitted to doing terrible things. Some quite... Personal." Hellas responds whilst he kneels on the ground as if a believer confessing all his sins to a priest. The Silstani leader sighs and holds one of his hands against his head.

"Get up, you're not getting punished. Dalbert has need of you all and even Aryien has come and demanded you all be given clemency. Besides your victim is no longer in life threatening danger." The Silstani leader goes to unlock the jail cells, grabbing a bundle of keys out of his pocket.

"That does beg the question. What crimes did the man admit to?" The leaders asks as he unlock the jails.

"He confessed to killing a member of our party and also an acquaintance of Gunnir."

"Where was this murder?"

"One in Sea rock town and the other in the caves connected to the catacombs."

"mmmh." A frown forms on the Silstani leader's face.

"What is it sir?" Hellas asks noticing the doubt on the merchant leader's face.

"No bodies were found in the cave."

"What?"

"There were no bodies in the cave. A cavern with caged vampiric beings but there was no recent humanoid body." Sylvester Silstani repeats as he guides the 2 part members to freedom again.
