An evening was spent celebrating Alessia's achievement, but soon the next dawn approached. Trying to avoid an emotional farewell with the people she spent the last months with and frankly changed her life. Alessia simply leaves behind a letter.
"Thank you and see you later!" These are the only words written on the letter as she went to face her newest challenge.
With the deal fulfilled on Secessus's part, Pallas now has to fulfill her part. That same day another receptionist from the adventuring guild is sent to Secessus telling him to go to the gold-ranked level of the building.
Secessus does so, seeing no qualm, and quickly encounters Pallas in her working attire. She's surrounded by four other individuals who, seem to be adventurers and quite powerful at that.
"We have never given you permission to do anything!" The large ginger-haired male shouts, his bald head almost exactly the opposite of his long beard that nearly reaches his stomach.
"I can assure you of the capability of this new companion. Besides, your task is way too important to take unnecessary risks." Pallas replies, as diplomatic as usual.
"Have we done anything to gain the adventuring's guild mistrust? If you put surveillance on someone, then just call it what it is." A female voice responds harshly. The woman wears strapped leather armor but carries no weapons. The aura, that lays dormant around her, gives away her magical abilities.
"As already previously stated, this is not a matter of surveillance, the adventuring guild has full faith in your abilities and decision-making. The new potential member has also showed the same promise, and so we feel inclined to put you together and allow your abilities to blossom together." Pallas again tries to defuse the situation, assuring the party that this is nothing insulting.
"How many times do we need to refuse? The composition of our party is none of your business, it's ours!" Another female voice yells, infuriated, her patience thin as she sways her arms through the air. The woman unlike the other woman doesn't have the presence of any mana surrounding her. Instead, the aura that surrounds her feels otherworldly, an extension of light itself. The weapon hanging on her side gives away the fact that she uses a mace in combat.
"And it doesn't have to be permanent. However, for this mission, at the very least. Ah, speaking of the devil." Pallas notices the arrival of Sol, the discussed topic. She walks and stands beside him as sho holds her right arm out, focusing everyone's attention on the new arrival.
"This is Sol, he's new in the adventuring guild and has almost immediately been promoted to the golden rank. He has already met the employer of the current mission and has already had to act. Whilst having a large amount of mana, he also is a proficient spear wielder." Pallas introduces the new emerald-eyed arrival, like a vendor trying to sell a specific product.
Three of the 4 gazes of the party send some glares. The same three that already have voiced their displeasure. The only one who hasn't yet is a male carrying a bow on his back. The man is pretty beyond belief, as the long braided rose hair and light blue eyes make one feel like he's looking at a fairy.
The man not sending an active glare walks closer to this and reaches out his hand.
"I am Hellas, it's rare for my sister to be this expressive about an adventure." The man reveals to be related to Pallas says. Sol Shakes the hand, knowing that he should probably not make all four of them hostile.
"As already said, I'm Sol and I do hope to get along with all of you. Trips filled with hostility are quite tiring." the potential new part member says, trying to disarm the situation.
"Get used to it." The woman with the mace responds, crushing any attempt to smooth things over. Hellas sighs as he turns around to face his party.
"The large man over there is Gunnir. The woman with the mace is Cristal and the other one is called Tika." Hellas introduces his party without their permission, making their glares temporarily move toward him instead of the emerald-eyed bystander.
"This doesn't change anything." The large man adorned in heavy plate armor says, his sheer size overwhelming.
"Gunnir we don't have a choice in the matter. Let's not complicate it." Hellas responds toward the unwelcome replies.
"Why shouldn't we have a choice?" The mage named Tika asks her magical aura still dormant.
"Well, for this mission at least, the matter cannot be changed. As already said, he has already saved the employer once, and he has been requested again." Pallas says, making it hard to refuse for the party now that one of their own is in support and that the newcomer has been specifically requested.
"You heard her, just for this mission now let's get going. Every minute we waste, the old man might actually drop dead." Hellas says, urging his party on.
The insistent glares of the party go away as the three walk toward the door. Leaving behind the 2 rose haired individuals and the new temporary member. Sol joins the three individuals, thinking he might actually be left behind if he doesn't chase.
Now just the brother and sister stand there in the room. The other receptionists still focused on their administrative duties.
"Shouldn't you tell me anything, Pellas?"
"He's promising and will be an asset, I can assure you that."
"Where have I heard those words before?" Hellas says, holding one of his hands on his forehead.
"This is different."
"Of course, It's not like you to unnecessarily meddle and ruin my life."
The sibling's conversation quickly turns sour. Leaving an unpleasant taste on their tongues.
"I have already apologized enough. I will not live my entire life in penance." Pallas angrily spits out, dropping her usual diplomatic mannerisms.
Hellas looks toward the exit, noticing that he shouldn't speak for too long. Keeping his party alone with the newcomer is probably a bad idea.
"Let's talk after this mission is done." Hellas says as he with an agile spirit turns around and begins to chase his party.
