Chapter 2 - Endless Journey and Joyful Companion

"Aren't--Aren't you asking the wrong question here?" She said, still weak and confused by the question the young man asked. "Shouldn't you be asking about *me*?" she continued while slowly standing up with the help of the young man. The young man eyes her up down a few times and said, "you look fine to me" and abruptly continued, not giving the girl any room to say a word "and I was going to ask you that, after you answer my question". "So, I asked you this, who am I?" he said with a serious tone and an even serious expression. "What happened to you? this isn't like you, being all serious" she said while her right hand was on her head, perhaps she was dizzy as a result of the cryosleep in the life pod, similar to how a sleeping man suddenly being awoken abruptly. dizzy and a bit confused. One would be more confused when suddenly someone asked a strange question as soon as you're woken up.

"Please, just answer me" wearing a tiny bit of sadness on his face. "I don't remember anything when I woke up, I don't even remember who I am" he continued. "You-- you lost your memo--" she cut off her words and continues "very well, first of all this is a delivery ship!" she said trying her best to sound joyful while her two hands spread across widely, she was obviously showing her surroundings.

"And my name is Aeden" while pointing at herself and then she points at the young man and said, "And your name is --" there was a noticeable pause when she was trying to said the man's name, before she could finish her sentence a heavy headache suddenly hit her. Her right hand that was pointing at the young man now was on her temple, trying to support her head from falling down. Her whole body became weak.

It was a moment that he was waiting for, the moment a truth about himself was about to be foretold. the paragraph "this is a delivery ship" spark up his eyes, "of course, that's why the cargo was so massive! could this ship be mainly delivering living creatures? that's why there are so many life pods?" he thoughts to himself while the girl continued mumbling something. The girl was pointing at him and that action snapped him back to reality. "Your name is--" there it was, the next revelation about himself. As he was anticipating the name that the girl will spout out, his mind was racing with many names, from names that starts with A all the way to Z. "Tell me, tell me my name" He screamed in his mind, brimming with anticipation.

Something was wrong, the girl was holding her temple and on the brinks of falling, again-- he quickly supported her and asked with worried eyes, "wha--what's wrong?"

"Its nothing, it just that my head felt like it is being split in half" she replied weakly. "It probably just the cryosleep sickness, I'll be alright after a quick nap " she continued while being supported with young man's help.

"I think the personal quarters is just out front, outside the cargo."

he lets her down slowly on the bed, the girl still wore a painful expression on her face. After settling her down on the bed, the man spoke " I'll leave you here for a while, when you're all better meet me in commanding station" the man paused for a while before continuing " you do know where that is right?" he said softly to not let the girl's condition worsen. She simply nodded. He left the room and head straight to another personal quarter, one right in front of where Aeden was sleeping in.

Every quarters were medium size resembling that of a hotel's room with a window to see the outside, be it the view of galaxies or bustling city depending on the ships location at the time. The scenery of space however, is not what the man was looking for. The man heads inside the room and when straight to the bathroom. What he was looking for was the mirror inside.

"I see... so this is what I looks like" said the man standing in front of the mirror. His look is nothing remarkable but far from what anyone from any of the 11 realms would call ugly, at least to his knowledge. He spent some time in front of the mirror, mumbling random names to trigger his memory. After calling out every single name he knew to no avail, he when out to the commanding station.

He sits on a chair on front of the middle monitors, watching the Tik going down while slowly and slowly he slips into a slumber out of boredom and tiredness.

Aeden woke up from her nap. the position she woke up in was weird and bizarre, unlike when the young man put her in. Before it was courteous and gracious, similar to how Snow White was in her casket. Now, now it is simply bizarre. One leg was slightly bend while another was dead straight. One arm was on her chest, and another on her waist.

She sits up on the bed while rubbing her eyes, "is this the guest room?" She ponders to herself half awake. She stretches out her arms and quickly when out to the farthest private quarter relative to the room she was in, it is also the room closest to the commanding station. She enters the room naturally and heads to the bathroom. After she finished showering, she opened the drawer in front of the bed and dresses up. She puts on a t-shirt and shorts, and on top of that she also wore a denim overall. As a finishing touch, she combed her dirty blonde hair and heads out.

*****

It was the steps that woke him, the sounds of someone's walking getting closer and closer. He turns his left to see Aeden in a denim overall walking towards him while munching on something. "Oh, Aeden you're awake, come come sits next to me" while pointing to a chair next to him. "I'm surprise you're actually remembered my name...your eyes lit up when I was talking about the ship and dimmed down when I said my name, and lit up again when I was about to say yours so I just thought that--" Aeden said but before she could finish her sentence, the man interrupted " no, no of course not it's just your imagination" while shaking his head left and right indicating a hard no to Aeden's statement.

Aeden squinted her eyes, suspecting the words that came out of the young man's mouth. the young man simply laughs while he is subtly being investigated. After a few moments, Aeden stopped her squinting and opens her mouth "about what you asked earlier, about your name... It's--" before finishing her sentence, the young man once more interjected "well before that, what are you eating?" he asked, genuinely curious about what Aeden been munching on since earlier.

"Oh, you mean this?" she asked while pointing at her widely open mouth. The young man was slightly disturbed by Aeden's spontaneous action but she did not notice it. " It's a protein bar" she said casually, as if both parties are already familiar with the subject.

"And where did you get that?" he asked, confused. "At the galley or kitchen or whatever you want to call it" she answered, simply while still munching.

The young man's brain starts working again, thinking of something. he eyes Aeden up and down once again, no doubt the thing he's thinking about have to do with Aeden. after a while he throws out a question, "are you the captain of this ship?" just as Aeden opens her mouth, the young man continued "or-- or are you the owner of this ship?" Aeden's mouth remain opened before closing and opening again uttering "I know that you said you lost your memory, but I don't think it would be this bad...". the young man's face was innocent and clueless at Aeden remarks. yes, it seems the memory loss is *that* bad. "While I can say for sure that I'm not the owner of this ship..." she said slightly pausing before continuing, "... and even though it can fun being the captain and ordering you around" she grinned a mischievous smile. "But I can't lie to you" she finished her sentence but this time with a genuine and cheerful smile.

"So, you're not the captain nor the owner.... I thought that by the way you're dressing, you could at least be the daughter of this ship's owner and boarding as a special passenger? " He said, commenting on her outfit that betrays any kind of dress code at any workplace. "Hey what do you mean daughter, shouldn't I at least be a son instead?" she said with an angry tone. "And what do you mean special passenger? I work on this ship!" she continues but now with an even angrier tone and her thumb pointing at her.

"You work here, on this ship...really?" He asked blankly.

"Yes, really" she replied, blankly as well.

he eyes her up and down once more, trying to rationalize the fact that she's a part of the ship's crew. "If you work here then what's your job?" the young man asked, interested with a pinch of doubt in his voice. "I don't know what you're trying to say but I really don't like your tone" irritated with the young man's doubtful voice. "Can't you tell?" she lifted up her right arm and then proceed to slap her right bicep with her left hand and said, cheerfully "I'm your--" before she could finish her sentence, the outside scenery changed immediately and the ship came to a stop.

They've arrived.
