"As of now, the west frontier, north, and south has been going smoothly. Ratatoskr and her squad had neutralized the Megiddo Carmlan and her detachment had been clearing more than 2 kilometers west out of any Calamities. Those two alone have accumulated enough credit to be promoted to A-rank if you tell me."
The tired man with a raspy voice, leaning on his swivel chair like no care in the world. He types with the keyboard at a pace faster than a normal mortal could do. Still in the middle of writing, he continues.
"Lafayette alone has cleared 5 kilometers of the north frontier; he has neutralized a Terraklause. Meanwhile, Rainbleed's battalion has defeated three high rank Calamities in the south."
"How about the east?" asks another officer, waiting for the tired man's report to continue.
"The east has been unstable, especially when the night enshrouds the battlefield." He then sipped on a cup of coffee with one hand before continuing his typing journey.
"Let's ask for a couple of personnel in the west frontier to help with the east."
"That's not needed."
"What?"
"Anon is coming."
"Anon was already dead."
"It was the word of director Dyaus Pita, 'Anon will come, she will come from the east when the moon is at its fullest'."
"It's a crescent moon now, and the raids from the east will only increase in amount!"
"You forgot who Anon is."
"Pardon?"
"You will see, I'll be relaying a message to the east that reinforcements will come."
"I trust you, Jaeger."
The officer leaves the chamber.
The quantum computer of the Assailant, Jaeger. A man who can solve numerous dreaded math problems at the age of 8, the only man that isn't an immortal who could parallel process a thought to more than a thousand souls simultaneously.
He joined the Assailant as an officer. Capable of extreme calculation, he was an irreplaceable asset to Vagant overall, especially within Amos Vagant's headquarters. Anything a normal person could achieve, he could achieve it tenfold.
The departing officer can only sigh. "Jaeger, I believe in you."
Meanwhile, somewhere deep down beneath the ground, 6 kilometers from Amos Citadel.
A timer starts ringing, and disturbed voice of a female with a deep tone.
"Mmhhh? Is it time yet?"
Buried, the entity brutally expands the cramped space of soil with an intent alone. It's a floating head, dirty red hair that would be in neck length if only she had a neck, a diagonal stitched intersection of two cutted skin can also be seen on her face. Yawning, her brain tries to process her existence with thoughts and reasons.
"Shit! Where is my body!?"
The floating head scrambles around, still in denial that she is just a floating head.
"Oh right, what is my purpose again? Hmmmmmmmm, I think Dyaus mentioned something."
She looks at the timer and realizes that she has been sleeping for 50 years.
"Holy shit! Damn you Dyaus! You said that you'd put me in a coffin! And now I'm literally underground with only my head intact!"
The floating head channels her consciousness to see what the view looks like above the ground, only to find thousands of Calamities marching in one direction.
"What is this amount!? A Divine Banquet!?"
She then pierces the ground above to be spewed out like a pea. One of the canine-types, Calamity, tries to eat her, only to be eaten by the floating head.
"GRRRRR! WARF! WARF!" she barks.
Single-headedly, she manages to triumph out of twenty Calamities with only her bites. After mindlessly searching and getting head-bashed by the stampede, she finally finds her body buried under the rubble. Complete with a dirty Assailant uniform and a tubular turtleneck capelet, the same kind of accessories that an Annihilator would usually wear.
Gritting her teeth, she channels her consciousness into the headless body as it starts to move according to her will. The last piece of the puzzle is now in its place, with her body now connected, she can now access her mana sea and utilize her deposited mana.
With an agitated expression, her hands grab the head and slam it into the place where it belongs. "Seriously, at least put me beside my body."
Inside one of the uniform's pockets, is a giant purple ribbon. From the 50 years it has stayed in her breast-pocket, it still somehow pertained to its colour. She tied the ribbon around her hair.
With the uncomfortable feeling now absent, she slaps the air nonchalantly. The sharp shockwave has decapitated numerous Calamities, some instantly killing them while some manage to survive and begin to rush at the peculiar individual.
"Huh, 37 kills. Man, I'm getting rusty."
She gestures her forefinger upward, and all of the Calamities she killed are starting to rise from the dead.
"Kill."
With ten times stronger than the original, the headless Calamities brutally attack the other monstrosity near them. A cheeky smirk is present on the necromancer. One of the headless horse-type monsters bearing ten meters in height approaches her.
She leaps, to the sky, rolling ten times in the air before landing perfectly with two feet connected on top of the horse-type Calamity. The kinetic energy makes her head slip from her body as she desperately tries to catch it, luckily it's a close call.
"Phew, that's uncool. I wonder if Dyaus left any more messages."
The curious necromancer starts to search her own uniform once again, she then finds a single small piece of paper that says: 'Protect Amos Citadel.'
"Huh? Their target was Amos?" The woman darts her vision into the surroundings to find the faint source of light made by a sky-high barrier on top of the titan-walls. "There's Amos!"
The dullahan is on her headless horse. Her ride gallantly moves forward to where Amos Citadel is. Together with the followers from the dead, they hack and tear every enemy along the way
Head cradled on her waist in one hand, and the other hand on her chin below a grin. The reinforcement is on the way.
"Anon is coming!"
