Chapter 77 - Ferrowl Of Justice

After getting the comfy synergy with Sahkoinen, you plan to gather more information about your senior. "Am I taking your time, Miss Sahkoinen?"

"Ah, not at all! If you want to ask more, we might as well talk in the lounge." She then shifts her gaze into the other receptionist's post beside her. "Millekha! I'll be leaving my post!"

A response is given, "Thirty minutes!"

"Thanks!" Sahkoinen then grabs a can with a lightning sticker and straw from her bottom desk.

'They are really casual with each other.'

Leaving the post, Sahkoinen guides both of you to the nearest available lounge. Just as when you thought that she might be a human, a long tail with a jagged dagger at the end is attached to her. Just as when you want to know what race she is, an inaudible message was sent to your brain by Lues. "She is an augmented Chimaera. Those with their bloodline carry thousands of different genes but in adulthood, they will only manifest three of them."

"What a convenient plot device you are."

"So what do the two of you want to know about?" asks her with that eternal smile of hers, a strawed can in her hand.

While Lues caresses Goyang like usual, you soften your stiff expression to ask, "Tell me everything you know about Ragnarok Squad."

You still remember that faint sharp stare by the gallant ferrowl gilded in valor. She is also one of your benefactors who paid for the hospital bill. As much as Chronos thickens her bad blood with her, paying her favor is undeniably one of your goals in the future.

'Thuljas, you did ask me what 'green apple muffin' is to me, I'll try my best to uncover it.'

"Ragnarok Squad, hmm?" The chimaera takes a sip of her electrifying beverage. "They are Sky Specialists, primarily for fast and emergency deployment. Their leader, Rainbleed, is one of the greatest Tacticians and she alone can defy a 'Divine Banquet'. Totalling in 15 personnel and two detachments with 6 individuals each, her battalion is a great asset to Vagant despite not being the best Squad there is."

"List me the top three," you firmly state.

"Raion, Balmung, Madruk. Those three battalions are the leading power for the Assailant currently. Raion Squad is currently commencing an 'Angel Ark' mission, Balmung Squad is scattered between Kongo and Kratos Citadel as those two became the frontline with the large 'void' gate recently, an expedition to seal them will be held soon after a few weeks from now on."

"How about the Madruk Squad?"

"They are in the 'Decade Ark' mission, sadly, the information is fully undisclosed."

"I see." You peeks at the surroundings in awareness of something different, there is a group of nine wearing black uniforms and cloaks instead of white. "A guest from another department?"

She notices what you're saying before heaving a sigh. "It means that their members didn't make it back, being an Assailant requires initiative and willpower, but sometimes it wasn't enough. To respect the fallen, they wear the black cloak for three days after ending their comrade in sackcloth and dust, that is if there is any remains."

While it seems like they are grieving, it also feels like a punishment and a message, 'don't be like us' was the atmosphere you were getting.

The usual white uniform resembled gallantry and perfection, while the blood of the dead stained it into black.

"Little Longy!" A shout from afar from a familiar someone, golden sharp eyes that can kill you with just a gaze, golden eyebrows and eyelashes, golden short hair and owl ears present rising to the back. A tall ferrowl, she wears the same Annihilator's neck-guard capelet as you. Her heavy militaristic uniform stands out differently from the others. Despite her happy-go-lucky tone, her expression is as scary as ever.

"Thuljas!"

The moment she's near, the ferrowl grab your head. "Rainbleed!" Thuljas then picks up the peaked cap and caress your head restlessly.

Sahkoinen accidentally spits out the majority of the liquid in her mouth. She immediately stands firmer than a statue and gives her salute. "Madam Rainbleed!"

"So this is where the infamous 'Primordials' are. I also see that both of you're talking about me. So who is the new fella?" she asks you, referring to the comfy crimson devil with the goofy Tekhanure on her lap.

You don't know if you can fully trust Thuljas yet, so you try to make it vague. "Libera, my companion—"

"Oh! Little Muffin! Long time no see!" Lues immediately replies herself, not even caring to glance at the ferrowl who asked.

Thuljas frowns, her pupils shrink even further with her eyes' veins rigidifying into geometric shapes as it traces all over her neck, illuminating her emotion to glow in golden hue. The hand that caresses your head stiffen into steel-like cold material where you're unsure whether you will be crushed by the sheer strength from the leader of a battalion or anxiety attack. Harrowingly, her head rotates half of a circle to glare at the friendly receptionist.

"Sahkoinen, go back to your post."

"Yes, madam!"

The Chimaera foresee the chaotic future that will ensue from the two dangerous individuals, so she runs into her post and begins the act of an unrelated passerby.

Thuljas retracts her neck as she tilts her head to the left in an unsightly manner. "You're a one, mad, persistent, specter, Krotea."
