Irene walked in the road, still angry with what had happened. Victor, who is in all smiling, being loyal by followed her from behind, closely.
Her hands and body already hurting here and there, but the man still can play with the situation they were before. Doesn't he realize how dangerous it is? Only a few second after they got out, that old building that caught on fire, then fall down to the ground. And here, the man can even smile after a that. She can't believe it. So, she decides that she can't forgive him easily this time.
"Are you still angry?" Victor asks her from behind. Irene stopped her footsteps, then turned her sour, frowning face, backwards, where the man was. Observed the man sharply without saying anything. Then she walked again. Ignoring the question completely.
"Are you really didn't want to tell me who do this to you?" Victor asks again. His eyes now glanced at the girl's clearly injured hand. He bit his lip angrily at what was happening. He should have come sooner.
Irene sighs a little,
"Since when do you like to talk nonstop?" Irene finally talk. Annoy by the man non-stop questioning since before.
"What do you mean? I always talk more than you if I recall." Victor confidently said.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Irene is lazy to talk about that. She is just accepting that fact. Probably that is the truth. She also don't really know about that.
"Irene. Tell me." Victor sounds strict this time.
"Tell you what?" Irene finally decides to entertain the man.
"Who did this to you?" Victor doesn't give up. He really wants to know. So that he can teach them a lesson. Lesson for touching someone that important to him.
"I take care of that." Irene sound cold. If she can, she want to get revenge. By herself.
"But I have right to know. That old building is mine after all. I should make the person who done this, compensate me for this incident. It's trespassing among others property also. That person can be put in jail. "
What he said just now making Irene completely lost in her track. For the second time she stopped her walking and looked at Victor, who was still walking behind her. Looking at him, puzzled. Until the man reached her side. Stand there.
"That old building is yours?" Irene asked in shock. Is that a coincidence or what?
Victor nodded. Confirming.
"Are you sure you are not the one conspiring with them?" Irene deliberately teased the man.
But it turned out that Victor took it too seriously.
"I will be the last person to do that to you which, I will never."
"Geez. That's just a joke. Why taking it so seriously? You are no fun." Irene said while now walking slowly. Side by side with the man. Catching each other pace.
"Ah... Guess you don't know. If you calculate time while you being abduct just now, you can find the distant from the collage to this building it's actually not that far. So, you can guess your location if you calm down a bit and try to remember the direction, even if you other senses like eyes is closed. Look at that, you can even see the college roof. Predict things is important if you wanted to run away from the bad person if you got a chance." Victor explained a bit too seriously.
"Stop it!"
And of course Irene cannot handle it anymore.
"Not another lesson. I still try to calm myself for what just happen before. Why are you trying to teach me this and that? Are you a firefighter or something?" Irene murmured.
"That's just because I'm too worried about you when you're not in front of my eyes. So by telling you all this at least you know something." Victor said that earnestly. That is really his true intention. He is now looking at Irene with his soft gaze.
Making Irene's heart suddenly skips a bit.
"And why do you care so much?" Irene asks. She actually wanted to confirm if the man still likes her, as he said that when they first met.
With that, Victor comes closer to the girl and said without even stutter.
"Because I like you. So much."
They now hold each other in their gaze before,
Unable to enjoy the romantic atmosphere that began to come, all of a sudden, it rained there. Not a little, but it rained heavily. Makes Irene and Victor now quickly run to the nearby bus stop. Just two of them there.
Both of them now just laugh awkwardly by what just happen. Irene is now hugging herself as she felt cold from the rain.
Looking at that, Victor opened the suit he was wearing and he put it on the girl. Making the forgotten romance scene before flash back to Irene mind.
"I'm fine." Irene tries to give back the coat but Victor refuses.
"You are drench more than me." He said.
With that Irene just accept the gesture. Her nose can even smell the cologne that the man wear. The smell is not too strong, not too soft. A nice smell that really suit the man. Calming her nervous feelings for some reason. Which, she didn't know.
"Why?" Irene suddenly asks after fighting with her inner thought. She was too curious to know and put aside her embarrassment. When she first hearing that, she seem cannot believe. But, the man now said that again.
"Why do you like me? I'm nobody."
"Hmm... Because it's you." Victor said with a smile.
At the time Irene saw the man's smiling face with full of attention. She had never noticed him very much before. It turned out that the man was quite handsome, with a well-built body, his height is on the tall side, along with the drench hair because of the rain, he looked too breathtaking.
Realizing that she is looking too much, Irene looked at the other way. Hoping that the man not to notice her behavior just now. But,
"Why are you looking at me like that? Are you suddenly falling in love with me?" And what the man just said, definitely caught Irene off guard.
"W.. w.. what do you mean?" She stutters this time. Resulting from her heart that's beating so fast now.
Victor just laugh a little looking at the girl shy act. He actually likes it more when she is being like that.
"It's fine if you do. After all, it's probably rare for you to see someone good looking as me around."
Irene laughs by the man self confident talk.
"Excuse me. I see a lot. The policeman that interview both of us before about the hotel incident also in the good looking side." Irene said as she remembers the policeman who is actually a father to the young boy who is minister of education grandchild.
"Tch. Are you saying you want to marry a divorcee who is related to the minister who just left his grandson with the gangster to save himself?" Victor is now feeling annoyed. As he remembers that the policeman is too friendly towards Irene.
"What marry? Not that far. You know that's is not what I mean. It just only you are the good looking person in this world, that is not true."
"Tch." Victor was lazy to prolong the matter.
"I didn't have time for love for now. I need to support myself, pay my house rent, need to graduate from college. I have so many things to do. Maybe one day, if I ready, I can think about that. But for now, its out of my reach. My first priority is, I need to find a part time job. Luckily college break starting tomorrow. So I can go around to find it."
"If you accept me, my money is yours. You don't have to work so hard anymore."
Irene glared at the man.
"Even so, I want to have my own money. I can't just waste my lover's money all of my life. It's your hard earn money anyway."
Victor is smiling widely after that. Looks like he's no longer sulking
"So, am I your lover now?"
Irene, realizing her mistake, once more become all silent. She just looked at the man without answer.
Victor, who is now cannot content himself any longer. His face is getting closer and closer to Irene's face. While his eyes looking intently at Irene's red lips. Irene also just stiffened in there. Seem like waiting for it.
But,
Suddenly, the bus come. Coincidentally, its the bus that Irene should take. Stopping there with a loud brake sound. Making both of them automatically distancing themselves.
"I'll get going first." Irene said in rush before her, in fast, entered the bus.
Victor, is left alone there. With all disappointment is now build inside his heart.
"Humph... I should just send her by car." Sighing long while regretting. Watching the bus move away in the rain.
