It was always easy to brainwash a child, and one must speak so dearly about what the child desires and offer him to give what he wants was a simple way to get inside of a child's head. The offer was so tempting for Anon as he desperately seeks to return to his usual self where he can no longer see or communicate to the yokai, so he chose to take the risk.
"Where are we going anyway and how are you going to make me turn back into a normal human being, you can give me a decent justification before you make me believe you completely now, can't you?"
"Kid, we're going to a festival where one yokai is allowed to turn back into a human for one day. There are also many things to be found there such as 'The great cape' it is an adored accessory among the yokai, it makes their energy invisible among other yokai and they can no longer be sensed but they can, of course, be seen nonetheless. But kid let me tell you, it is not going to be easy to obtain this as there will be other competitors among these who wish to obtain it."
"So you're telling me it's not going to be a free ride into the earth for me and I must now compete for it? Sounds interesting enough as long as the opportunity exists a chance to get what I want always exists."
"I like how optimistic you are kid but I think you're getting ahead of yourself now. Don't think you are better than us in this world. We are more powerful than a mere human, come to think of it I have never come across a human in the infinite void but there were stories of many people who existed in the infinite void all around the earth."
"Wait do you mean that there are humans here in infinite void? Are you sure? If they exist then take me to them. Do they have a way out of this misery?"
"Slow down. Kid, humans rank the highest in our nutritional list; they are what we genuinely wish to eat as our meals. Unfortunately, we cannot eat the humans of the earth, but we can only eat the ones that exist solely in the infinite void. Although we exist in both worlds, whatever action we take in an infinite void doesn't affect the earth.
Humans don't exist for long in the Infinite void; they are killed within a short amount of time, but although many have died, there still lives a legend up to this day here survived all his battles here."
Anon's eyes sparked, and the yokai noticed the spark in his eyes, the eyes of a determined boy; he so feared the boy's eyes that he could not meet it at that moment because those eyes were scary for the non-believers, for those eyes were scary for the evil. Anon's faith had been restored now that he found out that there exists a human in this hell with him, somewhere there is someone he can relate his tragedy to, which gave him hope to get out of here.
"We're just minutes away from the venue, be prepared kid." Anon felt his senses tingling as if they were trying to speak to him and tell him that he's got himself into huge trouble.
Anon spoke to himself, "Minutes away from hell!!!! That's the feeling I'm getting right now, no this isn't the feeling of excitement, my heart feels suppressed due to the dread I'm feeling… What is this feeling? Where am I? Why is it the same way I felt earlier when we fought the other Yokai am I going to end up dead… Was this always written in my fate? To end up being dead after all this time?" No feeling could be compared of that to the dread of death. Who would want to die? Of course, some do, but in the face of death, when death stands right Infront of them, they only wish to live.
"A kid remains a kid, after all, I can't believe it was this easy to convince you to come here without even doubting me to the slightest. Humans are so desperate for their desires that they would trust anyone so blindly ha-ha-ha… You fell right into my trap. Come one and come all, let us devour and feast tonight upon the food we Yokai so desired. How could you have not sensed all of the energies of these spirits around here? It was a setup to bring you here so we all can feast on you."
And here repeats the same cycle of Anon's life; one tragedy ends only for a new to arise. "When will my misery ever end... When???" Anon cried his soul out at that time, and he was convinced the only way he was ever going to find peace was his death, and so he chose to stand still and be devoured by the Yokai for him to rest in eternity.
He fell upon his knees, not begging for mercy but because he had lost every ounce of faith he had, and Anon gave up.
"Kid, you're rather easygoing, do you so wish to be devoured by us? Are you not going to fight for your life?"
"There is nothing worth fighting for anymore, I wished for peace and this life only gave me pain and suffering... The peace I want to attain lies beyond death; I think it is the fate which brings me in this situation constantly, and it's the fate which is guiding me to death."
As Anon finds himself surrounded by five other Yokai present near him, he succumbs to the situation and figures out that life was always leading him to death, and it was his fate to die and find peace forever.
Do the dead ever dream, or are things like dreams, beliefs and manifestation all restricted to the human life itself? Guess we'll never know what truly lies beyond death.
Anon is ambiguous about whether to live or die. On the other hand, his bodyguard realized that he doesn't feel any energy nearby to him and hence woke up in such a rush to find out what had happened to him. A yokai often falls into a state of sleep after overconsumption of nutritional food, be it a human or a yokai itself; this was why he was not awake.
As soon as he realized there was no energy Anon felt around him, he panicked and rushed in search of Anon to make sure he was okay or not since he had now become Rayleigh responsibility to keep him safe. "Oh no, I hope this kid has not ended up in trouble. The kid sure attracts trouble quite easily into his life."
After moving around, he felt intense energy in some distance, and it was not one single person but many, which he strongly felt, so he immediately rushed onto the scene.
"BACK AWAY AT ONCE!! He is my dear friend; don't you dare to harm him." From a very distant, Anon heard a voice trying to defend him. Eventually, upon turning back and looking, he saw Rayleigh hovering in the air, coming to his rescue. Rather than being happy or excited about someone coming to his rescue Anon had no feelings at all. He is emotionally drained to feel anything at all... What could one man save him from five yokai at once… "Anon, what the hell are you doing there… Falling on your knees and begging for mercy from these pathetic souls. Get up and run… Don't you have something to live for? It was my promise to protect you and get you back to where you belong, I even sacrificed my dreams in order to help you out. I no longer want to see my mother, there's nothing I can do about that but I put you in more misery I want you to live to see a better day so please run."
"I'm sorry Rayleigh I don't see the point anymore. The point of living, every day I wake up feeling that it's going to be better but it's just not it, it only gets worse and worse day by day. I think it's my time to give up now."
Rayleigh rushes into the yokai without even thinking of the consequences of rushing in, and he dived in straight to attack them. He managed to knock out one, and then the other four ganged up on him and exchanged punches and pinned him to the ground as well.
"Well, I was not expecting the double treat here. Looks to be like it's our lucky day today. First, a human flesh of high-class nutrition and this yokai seems to be a high class one himself, we could relax with this meal for months now without ever having to fulfil our satisfaction by killing our own friends in this world."
