He came out from cultivation and saw that the Tier 3 monster outside had been killed by someone and he could see the signs of a bloody battle. He packed the remaining Blood essence fruits to give Xun and came out of the hollow in the branch.
'My body is as strong as peak True foundation disciples now, so I should be good in battles. But I should probably focus on a movement technique for use in battle. My current moves are strong but predictable.'
'Good thinking Brat. Good movement techniques are a must. I will not help you explicitly by giving you a technique, but I can let you view how I use them and come to your own deductions.'
'That would help as well master. Your movement techniques must be very profound.'
' HAHAHA, of course, they are. They are the profoundest of them all. HAHAHAHA!'
Luo rolled his eyes at master Yin's smugness but was excited to learn the techniques. 'This one should do. This is one of the most exciting battles of my life. Ahh Yama, how I miss those days.'
'Yama?'
' You don't need to know now. The memory of the fight is a part of you now and you can see it as many times as you want but other than this, I will not entertain any questions on the techniques used. Form your own deductions and learn. That is my way of teaching'
A memory of Master Yin and the one called Yama fighting in the open landscape was playing in his head.
Master Yin had a sword and Yama had 2 scythes with which he fought. Both of them were pretty young here and Luo could only see their bodies moving and their weapons clashing. There wasn't even a single break as if each of them knew what the other would do next and it was a passionate battle with neither of them conceding or gaining an inch.
Yin was using Sword steps with minimalistic moves by deducing what Yama was going to do and then was blocking it. His movements, his attacks, his sword attacks were all part of him and he attacked with very profound simplicity that Luo couldn't see through as yet.
Yama on the other hand used chains of relentless attacks with his twin scythes and he used his speed to support that. He mostly had a wide stance with his back bent low , his scythes attacking from two directions at once, making it very hard to dodge.
He would pivot and use the momentum to his advantage by adding the momentum to the scythes again. His defense changed between soft defense , coupled with using the opponent's momentum as his own and adding his own at the last moment of attack.
While Yin used minimalist attacks by deducing attacks and stopping the other person from going through the motions of an attack, Yama on the other hand used Yin's blocks and incorporated it into his next attacks.
Both of them were excellent movement techniques but Luo took a liking to Yama's movement technique.
'I can use that for both soft defense and hard defense with shifting momentums and even if someone gets past that, when they encounter the strength of my physique, it will have a tremendous effect on their mind.'
'You mean you're not using this master's movement technique then? How dare you?'
'But Master, didn't you yourself say, that what I learn from this memory is up to me. I wish to copy the movements of this Yama senior then.'
'Fineee!. Hmph, Do as you like. And his technique's name is Raven's shadow steps and it is a very high level skill. You will come to know more later '
'Ohh. Good to know, master.'
Luo smiled at how his master was sulking a little but then focussed and emulated two branches as the weapons in his hand, he constantly reviewed Yama's movements and tried to recreate it on his own. After a week Luo could recreate some of the movements, shifting between guiding incoming attacks to the side gently and parrying attacks by himself directly using his posture.
This was enough to be used for basic combat and he named this poor imitation of the Divine level skill as Iron and Wave steps.[1]
