Chapter 8 - Fairy or a Devil?

Meanwhile, a man was resting near the greenfield with his horse on the other side. A cup of tea in his hand, his hair flew due to the wind in the fields.

Sitting on the rock, he observed the view with the clear sky above him. "You are a prince.. but who will actually believe that you are one of the Royals?"

Hearing the voice, the man's smirk widened. "I'm a prince, not for others but because of my birth origin. I don't have any wish to display my title."

His other friend, a man with a well-defined face came forward while taking small steps. His eyes shifted to stare at the clam and relaxed Daniel. "So, is the Fifth Prince, Daniel telling me that he no longer cares about his title and status?"

"I never said that. Simply stating that this title doesn't make me… really powerful either." Daniel answered back with a faint smile.

Darl clapped his hands as if looking impressed by the kind words, "Amazed so see this side of the Prince!" Daniel didn't feel offended.

"Anyways.." Gaining Daniel's attention in his direction, he asked, "Are we now completing the rest of the journey towards the Kingdom? Your father must be waiting for your arrival."

Hearing this, Daniel didn't move from his place. Taking a sip of his tea, his eyes glowed with a frown without showing any emotions, "We aren't going to the Kingdom tonight."

This slightly made Dark alerted. A frown curved on his forehead realizing that Daniel wasn't bluffing either.

"But.." looking above his head, he saw the clear sky. But what drew his attention was the sun which moved its direction. "It seems… that it will soon be night. Dark will come over and move in that time.. isn't safe."

"Don't worry. I don't have any plans to stay in these grass fields either. We will stay at the house itself." With these words, Daniel stood on his toes and checked his sword which was near his waist.

Afterward, he simply moved towards his horse, and using his one leg, he came on top of its back, ready for the ride. "Let us go now."

Yet puzzledness spread all over Darl's face when he noticed that Daniel wasn't in any mood to show up at the Palace. "But where are you even taking me? See, I'm your friend.. but don't put my dear life in danger."

A chuckle passed through Daniel's lips when he answered back with an assured smile, "Obviously! Just follow me.. and you will witness where I'm actually taking you."

Seeing that Daniel was already full of confidence, Darl didn't feel fear anymore.

Following Daniel's lead, their horses started running on their legs towards the town's entrance, at a steady pace.

The hustle bustle of the town and its street market came into their view. As usual, some filled some places where some men were playing poker and some, using cigars while conversing.

This was the most shabby part of the town from which they decided to enter.

Not something new to any of them but Darl was totally looking forward to discovering and unfold what is evolving in Daniel's mind

"Going to the street market of your kingdom.. that is not a bad idea. But why?" Darl asked a very simple question, to which Daniel didn't pay attention.

Rather, answered with a single word, "Home." The word itself made Darl aware of what Daniel wanted to communicate.

Instead of entering the town markets on their horses, they decided to leave them under the care of the local man, who was good at hiding their identity as the Prince and his friend too.

All thanks to the local shopkeeper, who helped them change into their regular wear, from the warrior clothes to the local and dirty clothes of the peasants.

With the change in their dress, and covering themselves up, both the men started walking down the street, in which they arrived after years. "Nothing changed.."

"Absitley. Just.. some new faced as I can see now." Daniel's gaze travels from one shop to another, reading the displayed names "Just.. a new generation has taken up."

"Correct. Everything changed. Just your old father is still holding up that position of the King." Daniel ignored his words as if they were thin air.

Walking down the lane, what flashed through his eyes was his mother's face. How these neighbors used to be so welcoming towards his mother. Yet.. everything changed afterward his identity was revealed.

The mixed emotions were constantly floating throughout his heart but somehow, he managed to control them on time.

Not letting tears flow down his cheeks, Daniel averted his gaze towards his best friend. "What happened to you? You didn't look happy."

"I'm just not able to understand.. what is the point of going home at this point?" The mere question brought a sly smirk on Daniel's lips, "I have returned to my Kingdom… and you still want me to not show up where... My mother lost her life? rather be in the middle of fake people?"

The word left a deep impact on Darl, who seemingly nodded his head. the streets were narrowed with no much crowd like usual.

The same made Daniel sigh. 'At least no one will recognize us so easily. Looks like.. no one is free too.' He was glad that he wore local clothing rather than his armor, to avoid any unwanted attention.

They were wrong in the direction of their respective house yet, out of the blue his eyes were a caught figure of a lady. His legs automatically slowed their pace when his gaze fell on the wide smile of hers…

Turning around and showcasing, it looked like the lady was excited to wear new clothes. The excitedness and glow in her crystal eyes depicted the same.

The eyes of hers glimmered with shine, with her wide smile. It was soothing to his cold heart.

His lips lifted upwards automatically, without his knowledge with some kind of attraction, making her unique out of the rest of the crowd.

Yet, he didn't immediately stop. Rather, slowing his pace he passed through the shop to see the lady sitting with two elders and laughing her heart out. 'So beautiful..'

"Brother? You alright? Walk fast at least!" Hr was pulled out of the daze when Darl's voice entered his ears

At last, he averted his gaze and lowered his face to hide the flicker and small blush. "I.. I'm alright. Just saw a fairy.."

Dark halted in his route when he turned around to look at his fifth prince, "You are joking, right? Fairy? Here?"

Without caring about his friend's disbelief, expressions which were written all over his face, Daniel walked over and kept his hand over his shoulder to make him walk further, "Ignore.. what I said.."

"Oh..okay." Darl, too, didn't give much information.

But the picture of the lady embedded in Daniel's mind, brought him to the next level of calmness whenever he recalled her face again and again. 'Looks like… I stumbled to see an innocent woman..'

But who will believe that the woman, who he saw a few moments ago, was a devil disguised as the innocent and lost girls?
