Do note that I am new to writing and might not live up to your expectations, so don't go badmouthing and being toxic because something didn't go the way you wanted or liked. Also I'll try to make some fun things happen so you can enjoy my novel more.** Anyways, I hope you enjoy my novel/story!

Chapter 1 - What the hell happened!?

Beep! beep! beep! beep!

The alarm on my phone rang as I groggily got up and crawled over my bed all the way to the end and lean down to turn off the alarm that never ceases to ruin a good dream, even though there are few and far in between.

I sat back up on the side of my bed and slowly woke up. I got up from the bed and did my normal morning routine, which basically consisted of relieving my bodily needs in the bathroom, combing my hair, tying it up, and eating something edible. Then I just plopped down on the sofa inside the living room, checked my phone and chatted with a few friends.

I spent most of the time lazying around as I didn't have a job yet, I was waiting until 16 to get a job because then I would be able to drive to work when I get my drivers licence. While I was lazying around I mainly read a lot of novels, fan fictions, comics, and the like. I also sometimes watched movies, TV series, and other things, but mainly reading.

My living conditions were pretty decent compared to others, living in a rented house/apartment, I was well-fed, I have a bed, a phone and anything I need. My family condition on the other hand, not as good, my moms and step-dads(Not legally though) relationship is incredibly unstable, and they argue over everything, mainly my mom though, as she likes to argue over every little thing and starts yelling at us every time we did something wrong, sometimes we didn't even know we did anything wrong.

My step-dad never laid a hand on my mom, nor does he yell much, but he definitely has difficulty controlling his mouth around others and us, he had a thing for curse words. So I slowly came to the realization that my mom is a hypocritical bitch. I'm surprised he didn't just leave with how much crap he endures, I know I wouldn't stay with a bitch like her. But even though I say such things like that about her, I still love her, she's my mom, she raised me to what I am today and sacrificed so much to keep me happy and well, even though many times I've seen through the facade she put up to protect me of the difficulties we were going through.

So even though I don't like what's she's become, it's hard to stop loving and caring for someone you've been with basically your whole life. I grew up mostly without a father figure, so I didn't know what it was like to grow up with one, so I wasn't really affected when my mom split with her exes, but when we met my step-dad and started living together when I was 11 I thought I was going to have a normal family at last, but alas, life wasn't so great, they started arguing to the point my mom was screaming her lungs out and my step-dad trying to calm her down, I'm surprised their relationship has lasted so long.

But enough about that, I like cooking and learning new dishes, though my mom doesn't trust me with the stove enough to actually be able to cook at home and not burn the house down, even when I've proved I am capable enough. I also liked listening to a wide variety of music, ranging from some Rock all the way to rap, I even dabbled a little in country.

I also like socializing, even though I technically count as a shut-in, as I don't go out much and just stay in my room. I have quite a few friends, so I'm pretty good in that department. But I didn't grow up with video games, so it was a little hard when it came to that, though I am well versed in quite a few games, I never was able to play much games. I also wasn't able to grow up with the same childhood as others, but again I knew enough to not be an outcast in those discussions.

Enough about my history and back to the present.

I spent most of the day reading and listening to some music, and when it came around 6 o' clock I decided to take a walk in town. So I sent my mom a text that I was going out for a walk and left the house while listening to some Pitbull and some similar music artists/singers. I walked down the road and took some shortcuts to the public park.

On the way to the park some neighbors and people I knew from school that were outside their houses waved at me and some made small talk before going back to their business. When I got there I just relaxed on one of the benches present. The public park consisted of a children's playground and a skate park, so I just watched while a few folks were skating or riding their bikes.

While I was just chilling on the bench while listening to some nostalgic 2000's songs, I noticed a couple patrol cars speeding past by the park entrance. Even though the town I lived in was relatively peaceful I dismissed the idea of something major happening as it wasn't that uncommon.

'Probably just a noise complaint gone wrong', I thought, as the town was relatively peaceful and not much crime went on and at most the heaviest crime would be some fight between hormonal teenagers, it was also said the cops here were kind of racist, so they probably pissed someone off.

It wasn't until a few moments later that more came speeding past, around 3 more, 'That's a little alarming', I sat upright on the bench, feeling a little uneasy. I checked my phone, it's been about an hour since I arrived at the park. I checked the news, but there hasn't been anything reported yet. I checked social media, because if anything happens, there's bound to be some stupid people either recording or taking pictures and uploading them to social media, or just standing there.

There didn't seem to be anything going on, so I relaxed a little dismissing the cars,'Hopefully nothing too major happened', as I thought that, yet again, 4 patrol cars sped by. Not far behind, this big ass truck came zooming by with the words SWAT plastered on it.

'Okay that's definitely not normal, better get home', and so I got up and started walking the opposite direction the police were heading, just as I was rounding the corner and out of the park, I heard loud bangs in the distance. I sped up my walk out of there.

'Holy shit! The hell was that?', I started freaking out a little, who wouldn't be? I'm just a normal dude, I've never encountered a situation like this, what was I supposed to do? So I did the sane thing to do and sped up.

KABOOOM

As I was about 500 meters away from the park I heard a huge explosion go off. 'What the fuck is happening?!', Just as that thought past, I could see military vehicles from the nearby national guard base in town driving by, I also saw a few fighter jets flying by at breakneck speeds, it was fucking loud!

KARAKBOOM

A few moments after the jets flew by another explosion went off.

'What the fuck is happening?!', I thought again as I started full on sprint and went as fast as my incredibly unfit body could go(AKA I'm fat). There were sirens, gunshots, and screams all around me as I ran away from the explosion, I could see fire and smoke rising up from where the explosions went off in the distance.

I didn't make it far before another explosion went went off, it sounded much closer than the previous two. Being my curious and dumb self, I looked back towards the explosion. Just as I look back I see a sharp piece of metal heading right towards my face.

That was the last thing I saw before everything went dark.
