Chapter 25 - Five man commander 11

The time Chroma logged on was nighttime, and Gordon was still asleep, but his master was sitting there waiting for him. " Chroma, what makes you come back so early today?" Chroma paused then started to rethink what he was about to say, but then he knew that hesitation wouldn't even put him in the race." Master Gale, can you please train me even harder from now on? I don't want to have even the slightest chance to die."

Gale looked at Chroma and started to smirk." Hmm, what made you scared to die? You're an immortal; even if you die, you would just come back to life. Am I wrong?" Chroma looked at Gale." Even if I can come back to life, the people around me can not, so if I'm not strong enough to protect them, then ill eventually lose everything." Gale looked at Chroma." It looks like you learned something fast, boy. You genuinely are worthy of being my disciple."

"An immortal that does not even want a chance to die worthy of being my disciple indeed, Chroma. from now on, I will train you even more vigorously so prepare yourself, but any immortal I ran into are seeking wealth, so how about this."

"I accept." Chroma spoke up quickly, not nervous by his decision but instead excited by his opportunity Duke Gale started to pat Chroma on the head Chroma was surprised at the duke's reaction." Chroma, a man should be sure about his words, and you have shown me this today; now rest and meet me at the regular time because if you don't sleep, you will surely regret your decision even more."

Chroma watched the duke leave the room. Chroma then logged out, setting an alarm clock for his standard training time with the duke in real life so he would be on time. Chroma thought he would have no problem sleeping with his new reassurance that he would get even more substantial.

Chroma heard the beeping of the alarm clock. Chroma jumped up at the sound of the clock and logged right in, excited for the new training, and ran to the place where he and Gale would train." It looks like you made it just in time." Gale was already there waiting for him. As usual, Chroma nodded his head at what Gale had said.

Good now, let's begin just like that Chromas training had started and even got worse than it already was. It was like now that Chroma had gained some respect from the duke Gale Gale had stopped holding back and started to treat him even more harshly. He went through hell through the training period.

A month had passed in real life 90 days in the game since Chroma started playing the game The New World Chroma was getting off the floor from the beating he had just taken from Gale." Chroma, I think it is time for you to get some real experience. An envoy sent out to stop the monsters from overflowing in the dungeon will make a pit stop before going to the next dungeon. I'm thinking of sending you with them this time."

Chroma looked at Gale and started to cry." Are you telling me no more training? I don't have to dodge life-threatening attacks anymore or smell my flesh burning? Thank you, Thank you. I will never forget this kindness."

Chroma had looked like he had just broken out of jail, and he was on a life sentence, but Duke Gale looked annoyed." did you not like my training? You were the one who was so excited about it." Chroma remembered his excitement on the first day, but it sent shivers down his spine when he thought about what he had experienced this month.

"Master Gale, you know I appreciate your training, but if anyone normal had gone through it, they would have indeed gone crazy, so for your next disciple, be sure to dial it back a little bit." Chroma felt a hit on his head from Gales sword." You ungrateful disciple, go back and rest so you can be prepared to go with the envoy." After being scolded by Gale, Chroma went back to the barracks to rest.

Gale smiled while looking at his disciple walking away, thinking he did a good job training him. Chroma arrived at the barracks seeing someone more than just his roommate but now his friend Gordon. " Chroma, how was training? Do you feel as if you have gotten stronger?"

Gordon was a significant pillar of support for Chroma because Chroma would be steps away from losing his mind going through the training the duke had prepared for him." Gordon, I have gotten stronger. It cost a lot, but that ends today. Tomorrow, I will be going to fight monsters." Chroma burst into laughter after finishing his announcement.

Gordon looked at Chroma with excitement. " I guess that means we will be going together because I was also selected to go fight monsters." Chroma looked at Gordon and hugged him." Great now we will be able to watch each other's back. Even though I like the rest of the soldiers, I would have it no other way." Gordon looked at Chroma and smiled." Chroma, time for us to get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow."

Chroma waited for Gordon as usual before logging off and going to sleep, but Chroma forgot something important with all the excitement going on.

Chroma woke up earlier than usual, not by his alarm clock but by his mom." Chroma, wake up; you said that you would help the owner of the fish stall that you would help him as a waiter today." Chroma remembered then looked at the bag full of the uniform in the corner of the room Chroma looked at his mom." Thank you, mom, for reminding me."

Chroma jumped up. Chroma's mom left the room; Chroma immediately went to shower and get ready. Once dressed, he ran toward the fish market, yelling bye to his family after slamming the door on his way out. Chromas dad looked at his mom." why is he in a rush to leave the house, honey? Chroma's mom looked at Chroma's dad." Chroma promised someone he must have forgotten because of all the fun he was having playing the game. I wonder how good he's doing; I never ask because he's always smiling whenever we talk."

Chroma's dad listened to what Chroma's mother was saying before walking over and hugging her." That's good to hear, but how can you make your son's dad happy. " Chromas mom started to giggle.

Market. Chroma saw the fish market with a van waiting out in front of it. Chroma knocked on the window to get the attention of the grandpa. " I see you made it, Chroma. I got worried for a bit. Even though we have waiters, it's good to have a capable worker like you around your like my insurance." Chroma smiled at the grandpa's remark.

Chroma got into the van and Greeted the other waiters that were already inside. Chroma drove through the city Chroma looked out of the windows watching the buildings drifting by until he arrived at the hotel he would be serving at, but it was colossal Chroma looked at the grandpa." How did you get hired for a job like this?"

The grandpa laughed at Chromas's reaction to seeing the hotel. Chroma looked at the grandpa, then peeked back at the hotel and laughed a little." Don't worry, grandpa doing something like this may be new to me, but I can do it. Chroma, your not getting cold feet on me, are you."

Once inside, a manager went over and greeted them and told them where to set up. Once done setting up, the grandpa of the fish market started to talk loudly, so all the waiters to hear." Today will be a masked ball, so while serving, we have to wear a mask, so choose one that you like and is comfortable, and let's get ready."
