Chereads / Ghost Z / Chapter 2 - STAGE 1: STARTING LINE

Chapter 2 - STAGE 1: STARTING LINE

8:00 AM Arrived. The early-morning Sunrise greeted the Horizon of the land. Traffic flooded the narrow streets of Downtown, Los Angeles. I stood on top of anParkimg garhe lot gazing out at the city life. The diverse chatter amongst people echoed through the City District & The scent of Petroleum filled the Air with a Surreal Automotive Scent.

This was the life.

There were beautiful toned women who passed by. Women of all shapes & sizes passed by, walking alone & a few couples as well. The women were quite flashy with the way they dressed. There were many high quality supercars as well. They would pass down the street every once & a while supposedly they must've easily been worth thousands. It's not like it was hard to tell. You know an expensive car when you see it.

"This was it...The life I wanted to live. The environment I had been craving for the majority of my life."

Today was my first day being in Los Angeles. Me & my family were originally from North Carolina. So we had to move. I was extremely new here so of course I didn't really know any good spots to observe the city. The top of the parking garage had given me a decent view of the land & civilians who passed by in their Cars. There were also couples who strutted by as well.

Down below me along the street there were a couple of Professionally Tuned automobiles screamed & roared down the 2 way Street racing at Incredibly High velocities.

"Grrrr...Vroom!!!!"

"Vroom...tch, Vroom!!!"

"Damn they're fast!", I said.

The scene was one like out of Fast & Furious. Both a Audi R8 & Dodge Hellcat raced fast burning up the pavement of the road. The roars of the engine screamed throughout the city. A lot of people were attracted to the sight.

Street Racers seemed to have been quite common in Los Angeles. So I could perhaps assume that Street Racing was common here as well. It's not like I wanted to ever get involved with those guys, they were far faster than me, but I could only dream.

There were many tuned sports cars such as Honda's, Nissan's, & Toyota's & few supercars as well such as Lamborghinis, Ferraris, & Mclarens.

Everyone was fast.

However, I on the other hand was not even close to being in the same league as those guys. For 1. I didn't have a car & 2. I didn't have enough money to afford such high boosted Car mods.

What I wished in that moment is that one day I could catch up to them. I wanted to go fast.

"I wish I had a car."

My need for speed was at an all time high. Before moving to Los Angeles I managed to get my drivers license. Luckily it brought me a step closer to my dream, but the fire inside of me grew so much. I just couldn't hold myself back any longer. I was eager to Race.

College was starting soon in August. Luckily it was July So I only had a couple of months left to enjoy my summer. I wanted to enjoy it the best way possible but, I didn't have any friends. I felt like I was missing out on most of the trendy mind breaking activities that were portrayed on social media. My FOMO ( Fear Of Missing Out) was kicking in and I wanted to do something about it.

It only seemed as if it was yesterday since I graduated high school. My life was moving quite fast, surprisingly I couldn't believe it Myself. The years were flying by & of course, I planned on going to University, but I wanted to do more than just that.

I stood on top of a building roof during the traffic hour. I watched over the world...so lost & out of place. Out of touch from reality.

"Just what is my place here?."

"Where do I go now?"

"I want to become a part of something greater...I want to do great things in this life. I want to become well-known and well admirable like one of those POP magazine Celebs or Stars. While I still have my youth."

At the age of 18, I felt like a complete nobody. My life was only just beginning yet those were the thoughts that purged my mind. I could not avoid such intrusive thoughts. I could only accept them and move on.

That's it right. My dream...A Racer...I wish to become a Professional Race Car Driver.

That was the dream I've had ever since I was 8 years old. I could remember it all. All of the motivation & Desire I had to become a racer filled my heart with so much Anxiety. It was a dream I like to die for, but it was too far to reach. Such a dream couldn't have been possible for a high-school graduate such as myself.

I stare up at the clouds closing my eyes.

I clenched my fists. I closed my eyes focusing on my inner thoughts.

"I want to become a professional racer. More than anything else in the world."

This was my dream & whether or not if it was possible couldn't be determined. All I know is that I had to try. No matter what, there was no way in hell I would never give my dream up. Not in a million years!

I held my head up high. My intent to Pursue my innermost desires had grew stronger. From this day on forth I would race. The only problem was that...

"I don't have a Car..."

No matter what, I needed a car first. The only person who could have helped me find a car would be my Dad, but he was always working. My Dad worked for a Business. This is why of course our family had to relocate. I was new to Los Angeles, so it is not like I had anyone else to go to.

"Damn it! Why do my parents have to always work so much? It's like they don't have time for me anymore."

"Great now what am I gonna do? How am I supposed to find something good?..."

As an 18-year-old finding, a car wasn't the problem. It would have to be paying for one. In modern times like these Cars, we're expensive & anything was better than paying for a cheap Hooptie that would break down after the first 300 miles driven lol.

In my favor However I luckily had some cash saved over from working part-time, the most that I could afford would have to have been a Cheap Compact car like a Toyota Corolla perhaps.

"Those cars are a bit too slow."

What I wanted was something faster. Something with speed & power. Quick Response and smooth steering. And mostly something that looked flash, because who doesn't look a good flashy sports car!?

Those cars are far too slow for my taste. In an environment like Los Angeles, California I thought it would have been nearly impossible to find something good.

"Damn...this is harder than expected."

I started to lose hope but I couldn't give up. After it's up to me to make my dreams come true. All I knew was that I had to find something decent at least, whatever my money could buy me for now.

Today would be the day that I purchased my first car. So I had already made up my mind. No matter what happened I wouldn't return home empty-handed, I wanted to become a racer.

My name is Aster & this is my Origin Story of how I will become the worlds greatest Togue Racer. Even if it kills me.
