Sapphair (p.o.v)
I kept on running further into the tunnel and knew straight away that Ruby was in the other tunnel. My knee was paining me very bad now and my heart was beating faster because of the running. I sighed in relief when I heard footsteps behind me which meant that at least Ruby was safe, but my relief staying very short as I only heard one pair of footstep behind me which meant that the other policemen was in the other tunnel. I prayed to God with all my heart that Ruby was safe and that I find her soon.
After running for lord know how long I smiled when I saw light just ahead of the tunnel. I ran faster while the footsteps were getting closer as well. I stopped when I came at the end of the tunnel and stood there for a second shocked to see a jungle. The other tunnel led to right here, which meant that either Ruby was in the jungle or still in the tunnel.
How on earth is there a jungle here at the end of the railway I thought, no wonder this railway was closed for a long time. the footstep were now coming closer and I ran into the jungle a bit happy as I knew we could easily out turn them. We?
Suddenly a scared feeling arise inside me. where was Ruby? what if she was captured. all of these bad thoughts kept running in my mind.
"Did you catch her" The familiar voice said.
"No that girl was fast, Did you catch yours" The other police officer said.
I sighed in relief as i knew that Ruby was safe and somewhere in the jungle. I couldn't call her as I knew I could be caught. Suddenly I heard footsteps and unfortunately so did the police men.
"Did you hear that" One of the police officer said.
"Ya come one they are her somewhere" The other replied.
I looked around to see if Ruby was anywhere but couldn't find her. I ran where I heard the foot steps from but Ruby was not there. Arg, where could she be?.
I walked further into the forest and finally spotted Ruby crouched behind a tree. She was crying and shivering and I ran to her and hugged her.
"OMG Ruby its OK don't cry I am here baby girl" I said
"Sapphair is that you, please don't leave me I was so scared" She said wiping her tears with her sleeve.
"Don't worry I am not leaving you here, come on now the police is still after us we need to run and find a way out from this jungle, this time hold my hand" I said.
I held her hand tight and we both ran now knowing were but hoping to find a way out of her while the police footsteps were following us. we kept on running in different direction for lord know how long and were both out of breath, but damn the police officer they are still following us.
I stopped for a second while Ruby stared at me confused. I looked around my surrounding and started to run further into the woods. I couldn't hear the foot steps which meant that we lost them, I sighed in relief when we found a way out of the jungle. The street was deserted and dirty, the walls filled with graffiti, it was a perfect place to kidnap someone.
Me and Ruby sat down against a wall and drank water while trying to calm down our breath. It only lasted for a short time as we heard the police officer voices.
"Do you think they came this way" He said.
" I think so because this looks like a way out, come on before they disappear" The other one said.
"Ruby" I hissed, quickly wear you vampire disguise before they see our true faces.
Ruby and I quickly wore our disguise just in time for the 2 police officer to come out, once they saw me their faces went into shock then realisation.
"Wait your the girl that I met in the breakfast shop, what are you doing here and who the freaking person is that" He said pointing at Ruby.
"Um I was doing graffiti with my friend and oh my friend has a problem which is why she looks like this" I said hoping they buy the excuse. I knew straight away they wouldn't because how was I doing graffiti without paint and beside it was illegal even if they didn't recognise me i will still get arrested for doing graffiti so i was busted either way. I smiled at him sheepishly.
He raised his eyes brows in amusement. "You think you can fool me, your the girl and she is your sister, we been looking for you everywhere and now we finally found you. Put your hands up your freedom time is up"
He point a gun up at us and Ruby tensed up beside me. Suddenly I had an idea. I smiled up at him.
"I dont think so mister" I smirked and before they could say anything I sprayed pepper spray which I stole from the shop in their eyes.
"ARGGGG, my eyes" They both said rubbing them. While they were busy, I took Ruby's hand and we ran for our life.
We kept on running and I knew they were following us, we ran to different streets hoping to loose them. We finally came to a street where we saw a white car. I looked at the car in fascination. It was a beautiful SUV and proper shiny. Suddenly, I had an idea it was so absurd that even me thinking about made it seem like impossible.
I went closer to the car and saw that the driver was talking on the phone. I could not see his face properly but his back was defined with muscles. Ruby looked up at me confused.
"I got a plan and just dont argue, it is the only way we could survive these police men" I whispered.
I went behind the car and Ruby followed me. Ever so slowly I opened the car boot and climbed inside, Ruby just stood there shocked.
"Ruby" I hissed quickly, there coming get in if you want to live. I could hear the footsteps and so did Ruby because she quickly climbed inside beside me and I slowly closed the car Boot.
I heard the police asking questions to the car driver but they were muffled. The car boot smelled fresh but the space was tight. Me and Ruby were squished but we stayed silently waiting for the police officer to leave. I finally heard their footsteps beginning to fade and was just about open the boot door to get outside when suddenly the car lurched forward slamming the car boot door hard.
"Shit" I whispered in shock
"Were locked now what" Hissed Ruby.
"Now, we wait for our end" I said.
The car started to move and I hoped that we end up in a safe place.
