Chapter 618 - CH91 (613), Various Perspectives/Reactions (2)

POV: Arthur Cameron:

Location: Rota, Rota City

Date: 34th month of 2184

Arthur could not help but release a sigh thinking about the information Gengar had just shared with him, and even though he knew that this new development meant that the two protectors would have a harder time doing their assignment without being discovered, he could not help but feel a bit amused whenever he remembered Gengar's complaints about Mikail and his Pokemon.

While Arthur was rather interested in how such a young Gengar at just the gold stage was capable of detecting a Gengar at the top of the platinum stage, he was just happy to see someone else develop a "headache" due to Mikail as well. At least he was not the only one troubled by all the things Mikail caused or did, and even if it did not reduce his own "headache", knowing that he was not suffering alone was enough to make him feel a bit better about the whole situation.

Well, at least he got to enjoy the shocked reactions of the other elders whenever he shared something that Mikail had come up with or caused, like the last council meeting where he shared with them that a Legendary had apparently made contact with Mikail while the latter went to a beach to relax with his Pokemon. Their faces when they heard that said Legendary was Volcanion and that Volcanion had actually blessed Mikail's fire-variant Gyarados would always be one of his fondest memories.

It may not have been entirely appropriate, but he had made sure to take a photo after sharing that information with the others, so he could always refresh that memory whenever he needed a dose of joy. That his reaction had not been much better when Alakazam and Gengar had burst into his office to tell him about the matter was not all that important.

As much as he liked revisiting that fond memory, the session had been somewhat of a mess, and he was pretty sure that the one he would have to call in now would not be much better. *another sigh* It had honestly taken a bit longer than he thought it would, but Mikail had finally gotten a bounty on his head and they would have to deal with that before it became a problem.

Arthur was convinced that Mikail's safety was of great importance for the order as well as humanity as a whole, and after all the things the order's elder council members had heard about the boy over the years, they shared his opinion on the matter. The only saving grace was for now was that the bounty was not all that high which meant that it was rather unattractive for anyone that could pose a genuine threat to Mikail.

As for the low-rung assassins and bounty hunters, Mikail could deal with those himself. He could use the experience, and hopefully, it would make him a bit more careful in what he did and/or revealed. Still, useful lesson or not, the bounty could not stand, and he would ensure that the order pressured the black market into revoking it as soon as possible.

POV: Arthur Cameron:

Location: Rota, Rota City

Date: 8th month of 2185

Arthur could not help the headache that was forming whenever he thought of Mikail's bounty. He cursed the damned black market for not retracting the bounty altogether. The order had pressured the black market as much as possible on the matter, but those darn criminals had insisted on their so-called rules. Had the five master-class trainers backing them not interfered, he would have shown them what he thought about their rules.

Unfortunately, he had been unable to do so with the interference of those five. They represented the peak of the global criminal scene, and since it was a sad fact that criminals were everywhere, their influence was not small. It was also a sad fact that a somewhat organized structure was better than total chaos even if it allowed some of the criminals to flourish more than they would have without that structure.

Still, it was a fact that there were master-class criminals involved, and they had a decent number of "elites" below them as well, so a full-blown confrontation with them would have resulted in losses that were not justifiable. That meant that he had been forced to accept their promise to push Mikail's bounty to the background.

Yet, the same scum that made that promise allowed some other scum to add to Mikail's existing bounty, making the boy's head much more attractive to even the higher-ranked assassins/bounty hunters out there. Arthur knew that they were scum so their actions should honestly not have been that surprising, but it was infuriating nonetheless. Especially since it meant that they were taking him and the order lightly.

He was quite tempted to show them what he thought about their actions by visiting a few branches of the black market, but the other elders held him back for now, citing that finding the person who issued the bounty increase was more important. They were right obviously, so he had made sure to order the investigation, but he still decided that some retaliation was necessary to show those dregs of society that the order was not an entity they could afford to underestimate or provoke.

He utilized the order's intelligence and tracked down two of the higher-ups of the black market and beat them up to vent his frustration before taking them into custody. Arthur was confident that the loss of two Champion-Class trainers, even if he thought that those two could barely be called as such, showed them that they should not push the order or suffer the consequences.

Still, while venting his frustration had been soothing, it was quite unfortunate that they had yet to find out who exactly paid the money to increase young Mikail's bounty. However, the fact that the order was having such difficulties already said a lot. Arthur had long decided that once they found the person responsible for his headache, and he did not doubt that they would find him or her eventually, he was going to pay them a personal visit and teach them why it was a bad idea to go against the wishes of the order.

Hopefully, that would intimidate all criminals if his taking out two "champions" had not done so already. In his opinion, the order currently seemed to not have a big enough intimidation factor seeing how many high-class assassins and other criminals were willing to disregard the warning their order had disseminated.

The fact that a mere 100 million Poke was enough for them to disregard everything was a sign that they did not fear the order enough. Perhaps they thought that anonymity could keep them safe, but he would show them that there was no such thing as eternal anonymity.

POV: Arthur Cameron:

Location: Rota, Rota City

Date: 18th month of 2185

Mikail had finally set out on his journey, and just like he had previously told me, Mikail was going to travel through Hoenn. I could understand the rationale behind his decision. The way his Pokmeon had grown and were still growing, it made no sense to wait for too long for a Senior League Tournament to happen, so participating in the Hoenn Circuit which would end within his journey's first year was a good choice.

Especially since the only other circuits that would end within his first year took place in regions outside the northern continent which made them unavailable to Mikail because he had to stick to his home continent for his first circuit. Arthur did not doubt that Mikail would dominate the Hoenn Circuit and he looked forward to hearing about his exploits.

With Mikail leaving for Hoenn, Gengar, as well as Alakazam, had reported back due to the end of their protection duty, and Arthur could not help but smile when he thought back to the scene of Alakazam dragging Gengar to his office by the nape. Still, while he did not believe that Gengar's "prank" was a big deal, he was sure that Mikail would likely correctly conclude that the two used to be his protection.

From there it was not hard to guess that Gengar only showed himself because they were done with their job, but Arthur did not think that this was necessarily a bad thing since it would mean that Mikail knew for sure that he would, from then on, be on his own. Hopefully, that would have him act a bit more cautious, though considering Mikail's past actions/behavior he was not too convinced that would happen.

There was also the fact that Mikail would have to deal with the high-class bounty hunters and assassins on his own now that Gengar as well as Alakazam were no longer around him. He would have to call and inform Mikail about that to ensure that he was not taken by surprise when one of those criminals suddenly attacked him.

If there was one thing Arthur could be happy about as far as that sh*t show was concerned it was that his previous actions had worked to a certain extent. He was absolutely certain that no champion-class trainers would dare to target Mikail, ever since he had issued that specific warning a few months ago.

The two "elites" he captured roughly 10 months ago and the "bounty raiser" they managed to track down two months ago ensured that since it showed that they were neither strong enough to escape them nor could they hide from them forever. Still, Arthur felt that it would be better to issue a reminder to prevent them from developing any ideas.

POV: Samuel Oak:

Location: Kanto, Pallet City

Date: 18th month of 2185

Samuel put the phone down after being informed that young Mikail Geo had just left Kanto. The young Geo was a truly fascinating individual and Samuel could not help but think about the things that had been revealed about the young man throughout the year.

The Mysterious Island/Space only he seemed to have access to. The high rate of irregularities/mutations among his Pokemon. It was no surprise that his suspected blessing was deemed more and more likely/plausible as more things were revealed, among which was the Legendary encounter he had. The fact that Volcanion was willing to bless Mikail's Pokemon only added to everyone's assumption.

Then there was the mysterious ability to heal the sequela of old Pokemon that are usually untreatable that Mikail exposed during his ranger phase. Well, at first it was a suspicion based on his action of recruiting Pokemon that were about to die of old age, but that basically got confirmed when he released the same amount of gold-stage Pokemon belonging to the same species in his reserve close to two weeks ago.

Samuel had immediately used his influence in the alliance to seal this information so that only certain alliance members could access it since the consequences of this knowledge becoming public/generally known were extensive. Mikail being able to treat such things implied that he was capable of healing old wounds, which would be extremely useful/helpful for the top trainer of the alliance, and all trainers in general. Not to mention the "superhumans" whose bodies had undergone certain levels of trauma to reach the heights they had achieved.

Thankfully, Mikail had not shown any capacity to regrow lost limbs or organs, or he even would not have been able to stop the alliance from approaching the boy for healing purposes regardless of his influence. Even more interesting than all that, at least for him, was the revelation two weeks ago concerning Mikail's research/breeding capabilities.

If his previous projects, including his various Gyarados variants, had shown a glimpse of Mikail's research/breeding capabilities that still could be associated with a healthy dose of luck, then the batch of Rattata variants he left at his reserve left no doubt about his research/breeding abilities. It was incredible to see that Mikail had managed to cultivate and accumulate such a high number of not 1 but 4 variants.

If this result of his could be transferred to species aside from Rattata and likely Magikarp, then we would see an incredible reduction in the rarity of type variants all across the board. Even just the possibility that this information could be true would cause waves in the scientific community, and unlike the other information, Samuel did not believe he could conceal or stop this information from spreading out since the Rattata were not hidden and could be easily observed through various means.

As for Mikail's plan for those Rattata, seeing how they were of the grass, fire, water, and electric type respectively, it was not hard to guess that Mikail was planning to use them as starters, likely for his orphanage. Considering the numbers present at his reserve, Mikail had sustainable breeding groups, so his plan would most likely work.

Samuel was happy to see the amount of work young Mikail had put into not only his research but also helping the orphans of his orphanage. The orphans would be able to gain "valuable" starters, reminiscent of a "lower" royal trio, or quartet since Mikail also had an electric variant. Moreover, Samuel did not doubt that Mikail had ensured that his breeding base had a good potential to ensure the quality of the future generations/starters.

Samuel could easily say that despite the work that Junior Professor Geo was causing him, he was looking forward to the young man's future, and he could not wait to see how far he would be able to go as both a trainer and a researcher.
